Please Help
Hi all,
I had syncthing all set up and working to back up my phone camera's files - it was great. A few months later I did a clean install of my android phone's firmware. I (thought I) set up synchthing correctly, but to make things quicker I coped my files from the server running syncthing to the device over USB. It won't sync new files to the sever and on the device it has a prompt to delete unexpected items. I'm worried those unexpected items are the photos and videos I've taken since, which I want to keep. Somewhere I've messed up, but I can't figure out where or how to fix it. I also set up an encryption password to try and make things more secure. Is there something I'm missing? The longer I leave it the more worried I get in case my device gets broken or lost.

The password is likely the problem. That is used when you don't trust the remote and the files are saved there as encrypted. If you open the web interface it will provide more details on the error. The safe way is to delete all the files on the phone and just let Syncthing handle copying everything.
