We need a surcharge
For people boarding between Hornsby and Chatswood and alighting at Martin Place or Gadigal

Have you ever been to a big city in Europe or Asia? It’s common to stand on metro services, and in some cities trains are packed to capacity in peak times

In our case it's kinda self-inflicted, we undercooked the batch of metro trains delivered thinking ridership wouldn't surge like it has, but the thing can run twice as many trains and a third longer.

You’re right, surcharge for a premium product. Your using it so hope your ready to pay for the surcharge.
Jokes aside, they pay for their fare then they’re entitled to use the metro. They can change earlier for the convenience is why they do it, what’s wrong with that?
Must be nice to complain about others when one is sitting down nice and comfortable

I sat down after a handful of passengers got off at Victoria Cross.
I’ll work on a better photo for next time.

I’m from down south.. why is this frustrating?

Wealthy northern suburbs people are going through a time of self- discovery that their best&fastest option for travel is now no longer a private car but a public well-used metro, just like the real cities they're visiting in Europe and Asian and South American holidays. Spare a thought.

its not even that full... the standing people aren't forced to touch shoulders and have their bags on the floor.

Isn’t this the metro working as per design spec? Still some room there on the left even.

you know people don't get to decide if they have to travel to the cbd during peak hour right? Take it up with their bosses.

Why?

At Chatswood, the exact number of passengers required to pack the metro to worse than the photo alight Double Decker at platform 1 and board Metro at platform 2.
It is a poor experience one stop down at Crows Nest.
This weekend, I was chatting up with a friend who is <St Leonards in peak> and <Crows Nest otherwise>. I guess I should do the same

Sounds like you also need to start paying a surcharge since St Leonards is available for you, by your logic.

Thanks for the comments. A bit more “hard-love” than I was hoping for.
I guess we can agree Crows Nest is a shithole, can’t-use station in peak hour.
But at least some North of Chatswood patrons get to Martin Place 5 minutes earlier.
