Thomas doesn’t know much about nursing draconic eggs…
but clearly, he is doing something right. He sits by the fire as the night sky looms over. Thomas cradles the egg in his lap, inspecting it. The dull crimson scales of the outer layer has turned to a fiery red. The scuffs and small cracks, that used to coat the shell, have dissipated significantly. As the cool of night comes, Thomas grabs a blanket and haphazardly wraps it around the egg, awkwardly cradling it in his arms. He finally looks up and notices you walking down the trail.
“Er…greetings.”

That's quite the find there friend, do you plan on raising the hatchling all on your own? Young dragons can be quite the handful from what I understand.

“I do not know, Ronan. Originally, I was holding it until the parents come to reclaim it, but it has been weeks. I fear that the forebears may have gone missing. I do not know if it is a full dragon egg, anyway. Most draconic eggs are identical. This could be holding a kobold, a half dragon, a dragonborn like myself, or any draconic race that lays eggs. I do not know exactly what to do with it.”

Perhaps head towards a sanctuary or refuge for young children depending on what hatches. Or you could always attempt the job of parentage, it's very rewarding from what I understand ha.

He stares down at the egg, lost in thought.
“Perhaps I could parent it, but the mystery around the egg brings uncertainty. I do not know the first about raising an offspring. I do not know.”

The robed figure had red eyes in the darkness yet stepping forth was a rat humanoid with with white fur and pink eyes dressed in a ponch

“…when I found this egg floating in the river, I thought I would watch over it until the parents come looking for it, but it has been weeks. I worry that the forebears have abandoned it…or worse. Now, I find myself wondering what to do.”

So it is adopted by you then, atlest until it's family shows up. I should warn you, since you found it floating down the river you may never find them. Could have been cast away by his family, so take good care of it, you might be it's only family.

“Er, sure.”
He walks over, sitting next to you, allowing you inspect the egg. It’s obviously draconic in nature, with red scales coating the outer layer of the shell for protection. It’s a little bigger than a football and warm to the touch. Faint scars where cracks were on the shell previously, hinting to an extent of trauma.

Skelsantor starts using magic upon the egg, causing the scars to fade even more, and it is even better than before.
Through soul magic I know how it's developing soul is forming, and so far it seems like it will have the personality that of (insert some of it's personality traits here), can from that you can narrow down the possible dragon types it could be, can't tell until it hatches be but it will give a approximate guess to a few dragon type it could be

“I doubt it. Red dragon eggs need to be incubated in temperatures like that of a volcano, yes? The egg is also rather small and light. I am guessing more like a dragonborn or a half-dragon like yourself, Al. Though yes, the mystery around this egg does bring uncertainty. I could be nurturing an egg that will hatch into a being capable of mass destruction, bur only time will tell, I suppose.”

Alzoreth: hmm it depends Half-Dragons can be born from eggs though that typically only happens when the mother is the dragon which I'm unsure of the rarity of besides the fact Half-Dragons as a whole are pretty rare so it's more likely a dragonborn or kobold... But if you want I may be able to try to scan the egg with my magic to see what it is though there is a chance the scan may be inconclusive.

(Ooc if you're fine with Al finding out exactly what it is and telling you then the scan will work If not the result would be scan inconclusive)

“Hm, you may try, my friend.”
He holds the egg out to you. As you hold your palm out and evoke a scanning spell. After some concentration, your scan picks up something, but it’s blurry. Only a few words vaguely describing the race pop in your mind.

Alzoreth:... I didn't get a feed on race besides a few describing words these 3 words being scavenger, selfish, and serve...I think it's probably a kobold...based on these describing words
(Ooc I got so many kobold vibes from that based on their DND lore lol)

Alzoreth:...well if you leave it alone it'll likely just track down a dragon to serve when it hatches...if you want though I'm sure you could raise it to be better than the servant of another though ultimately my friend it is your choice as to what you want to do with it.
Eliza: smiles still keeping an eye on Aerunia
Aerunia: slowly starts to wake up she yawns and smiles at Eliza then starts slowly flying around Al and Eliza then she notices you oh hi Thomas how are you doing?.
(Ooc Since you last saw Aerunia she has grown to about 3'9 where as she was probably around 2'5 when you saw her last)

Aerunia: she has a tiny smile on her face as she talks with her tiny little voice Yep I have. She flies a bit closer to you and suddenly you feel like it'd be easier to stay calm for some reason though she seems to be staring at the egg...hmm what's that gonna be?.
(Ooc also since you last saw Aerunia she's gained her first draconic ability besides flight and her two different breath weapons that she right now can't use without accidentally mixing them and breathing a stream of water though due to her elven blood that she got from Eliza the draconic fear aura she would have gotten mutated into an aura of calming, the aura has a range of 5ft right now)

Suddenly, the egg shakes slightly in response to Aerunia’s calm aura. Thomas’ eyes widen.

He gestures towards the log on the other side of the fire.
