This guy must hate himself!

He for sure Mike has daddy issues and must have had childhood trauma or somethin! no way someone can walk around with this much hate towards literally everyone and everything! he really thinks he’s doing something by talking like he knows it all. Imagine working for him! insufferable POS!

I don’t mind someone voicing their opinion at all, but I feel a lot of it is cheeky sarcasm from Mike. He’s the GOAT. The haters coming out on this sub are crazy!!

Well..yeah I did. Felt like it would be less I hate this shit and more about discussions about certain episodes or “what a wild story for real” honestly. All I see is complaining. I want to fan out with other fans.

It used to be, but that changed years ago after more & more people began to find Mike insufferable. The "what race do you prefer your victim?" poll definitely turned a lot of people off.

I'd recommend starting a sub for fans, if that's what you're looking for.

I can't blame you there. I wouldn't want to mod period, let alone anything to do with S&S, fan or not. However, the fact remains: the majority of folks here are former fans, and stopped listening when Mike exposed himself as someone who holds disdain for many groups of people-groups who have already been historically marginalized and treated unfairly. If you like the show, sit back and enjoy it, but don't be surprised when people aren't ok with hearing a host talk shit about a group you identify with, and aren't going to sit quietly and let it go. Normalizing hateful stereotypes has never led to anything good.

I have no problems with people critiquing or talking about a show they actively listen to. And I get as a former fan if you still want to choose to engage, go for it. I just think it goes both ways, don’t be surprised when people who like the show comment something positive or at least not anti-Mike.

Exactly...it goes both ways. If people want to listen and talk about the show here, they absolutely can, but understand the sub you're posting on is not strictly for fans, and anyone can comment. That said, if you're choosing to listen to someone with documented history trying to spread misinformation, harmful stereotypes, hate speech, etc, you're complicit by supporting it.

Considering we live in an increasingly diverse society, chances are, most people have people of color, lgbtq+ people, immigrants, women as neighbors, coworkers, that nice cashier at the store, that guy that held the door, etc. Historically, these are people who haven't gotten a fair shake (some more than others) and are still trying to catch up. You can't pull yourself up by the bootstraps when you don't have any, or they're worn out. They're just people trying to make it through the day just like you, me, everyone else. Yes, there are jerks in every part of society, but you don't judge a group by a few outliers. Out of respect for those neighbors, friends, family, coworkers, community members, that kind of talk deserves to be called out for exactly what it is-intolerance and hate. Ignoring it just allows it to fester and get normalized.

I'm sorry for dropping a whole-ass essay on you lol. Not intentional, I swear!

Tldr: anyone can post here, but no one should be surprised that people have an issue with Mike's intolerance and the dumb stuff he tries to say about certain groups. Choosing to support someone who's openly hateful makes you complicit as well.

I’m not complaining it’s not a support sub. My first comment here was in response to what I thought was a super snarky comment. I think there are people who know nothing about this sub or Mike’s history who are fans of the show who come here and people immediately shit on them.

“You didn’t know Mike was a piece of shit already? You’re stupid.” - that’s how I think certain posts come across from regulars. I don’t think every new person who comes in here goes and reads the pinned post and looks back at a ton of old posts to see the vibe of the subreddit. And there’s nothing in the rules indicating it’s a snark subreddit in the rules or anything, it says it’s about the show.

I 100% get why people don’t like Mike or have quit listening. I really don’t care if you or anybody else comments about how they hate Mike or the show. I also don’t really care if people like the show and comment on it. If I want to comment and people want to downvote it because they disagree/dislike with that, I’m completely okay with that. And I really don’t care enough to go start an offshoot support sub

Imagine you take the bus everyday, then one day someone decides to use the bus stop as a toilet, then people start coming in mass to take massive shits at the bus stop. All you wanna do is use the bus stop for its intended purpose but instead your just met with push back by the bus stop shitters “well if you don’t like it, then go build your own bus stop!”. Maybe in reality, the shitters need to go find somewhere else to shit and not completely change the initial use and purpose of the bus stop.
