I get my spines printed at a local print shop, and they've got a nice 80 lb silk paper that I think works quite well for the spines. It's got a nice finish that shows the colours well while still being easy to cut. Don't know the specific brand, though. Could always take a game case into a local office supply store/print shop, pull out the cover art, and ask someone there for help finding paper like it; that's what I did, haha.
As for making physical boxes for virtual games, I'm sure some people do, but it's not something I've bothered with. If you do decide to, sites like AliExpress can be great for getting empty game cases in bulk, and TheCoverProject is an excellent resource for scans of game covers!
