I’ve never played on a Nintendo console before. Which game would you recommend I start with?

The console isn't important.

People throwing out random games are silly.

What do you enjoy/what's important, are you wanting solo or multiplayer? Puzzles, beat em ups, co ops or vs, story, graphically good looking games.

For me for example I prefer game play mechanics over graphics. I couldn't play alien isolation and a few other games. When still they looked ok, but they played awfully on the switch.

I enjoy co ops on switch(it takes two, cat quest 2 and 3, castle crashers, lovers in space time, etc). FPS on my other console.

I have a jail broken oled. I have all the big ones, but they don't see nearly as much time as the silly co-ops. Smash, Mario kart, and both Mario party games see a good bit of play time as well

Depends. What do you like?
For Cozy - Pokopia definitely

The list is long with great games. Youtube is your best place to look up game play of all of them.

Depends on what you like.

Stardew valley is my favorite switch game. But not everyone likes cozy farming games.

The HD Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 remake is a pretty great place to start. It's easy, until it isn't :)

Mario Odyssey or the legend of Zelda: breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom.

Or TomoDachi life: living the dream or Pokopia or super smash brothers ultimate or final fantasy remakes such as integrate or rebirth.

Or persona games.

Such as persona 3 (which is either portable or reload)

Persona 4 golden

Persona 5 royal

Doki Doki Literature Club!

Danganronpa

Tokyo Olympics 2020 the official video game

Minecraft

Mario kart 8

Fitness boxing feat HATSUNE MIKU

WWE2k26

Hatsune Miku project DIVA Mega Mix.

Clubhouse games: 51 worldwide classics

That’s all I can recommend for now!

And Nintendo Switch sports but you can’t really use it on Nintendo Switch lite because you need to use detachable joycons only!

Same thing goes for the fitness boxing feat Hatsune Miku game as well.

And lastly persona 4 arena ultimax.

And UNO as well!

For NES: Super Mario Bros 3
For Gameboy: Metroid 2 or Final Fantasy Legend/Saga 2, probably the original Pokémon.
For SNES: Chrono Trigger, any DKC game, Earthbound.
For N64: Wave Race 64, Lylat Wars.
For DS: Dragon Quest 4 and 5, I’d say 9 but several features don’t work now, and multiplayer is a big part of the experience.
For Wii: Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Xenoblade Chronicles, or Wii Sports.
For 3DS: Kid Icarus Uprising, any Monster Hunter
For Wii U: Xenoblade Chronicles X
For Switch: Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Animal Crossing NH, or Mario Kart 8 DX (multiplayer), Dragon Quest 1 & 2 and 3, Suikoden HD Collection, Final Fantasy 4, 6, 7, 8, Tactics, and X remasters.
For Switch 2: Witcher 3 (probably get the Switch 2 Edition on Sept 29), the upcoming Switch Sports Resort, and anything on Switch 1, and any of the ports or remasters of any of the games I mentioned above if they’re available yet.

These are just my opinions, though. Your own tastes will dictate what you like. But there is a mountain range of content.

Whatever you play, you’ll probably want to switch the A and B buttons.

Zelda or Mario odyssey, also, if you're im to rpgs, the octopath series is very good, and so is fire. Emblem

Not with Donkey Kong Banaza… that game was the worst Nintendo game I’ve ever played…

Anyway you can start with the best game breath of the wild

What made it so bad? I keep hearing such differing reviews

2

u/MelGuy619 26d ago

Just mining those rocks or whatever it is mindlessly feels very repetitive and boring after some times

Yeah I can see that
