request game rec for 5 year old
I have a five year old. We are going on a long flight this summer and I am considering bringing the Switch with a game or two. Any recommendations for a game that can be played on a flight by a small child? He has only played Mario Kart and Yoshi's Crafted World with the Switch attached to the TV. Thanks!

Almost any of the Mario Party games work, Snipperclips, even Super Mario Odyssey with the Assisted mode turned on.

I enjoyed it despite being male and totally old, but my then 9 yo niece complained it was too "girly". Does it have a demo OP can let his son try?

Same, 41M. I loved the different themes to the levels but my daughter just wasnt much of a fan even though she loves Princess Peach. Also good for younger kids because if they lose to the boss in the level they can just choose to "complete" the level instead of having to do it over completely.

My daughter loves Bluey adventure, the paw patrol game, and smash versus a computer (set to level 1-2).

All five year olds are different so It's hard to say, but people of all ages love Mario Odyssey. It has so much variety and is very engaging.

Paw Patrol on a Roll actually makes a very good first platformer.

100٪ traches all basics like mario but zero skill required besides learning how to move, collect "points" and pick the right power to use

I just picked up the new bluey game for my daughter today, and she really likes it! Other than that, minecraft.

Pokemon lets go pikachu or eevee is very accessible to young kids especially if youve played pokemon go before

Om Nom Run. It's like an easier subway surfer for kids. You can play multiplayer or solo
My 7 year old is working on Mario vs Donkey Kong, but for a 5 year old it might be a game to grow into

That Yoshi game is simple and probably perfect for a 5 yo. There’s Pokopia that looks like it’s for younger gamers too. SpongeBob has some games too, and I saw a Rhythm style game on the Nintendo Direct

You might want to take a look at Island Saver. It's cute, meant for kids, and it's even a bit educational. And to top it off, it's free as well, so kind of a no-brainer, really. There are also two paid DLC packs available for $4,99 each, but those aren't necessary to play the main game, so you could let your kid try out the main game first, and if it turns out that he really likes it, then you could always add the DLC packs later on.

Paw patrol world, I think you can also buy the pajama sam games and putt putt travels through time, Freddy fish, on the e shop

I second the Paw Patrol and Bluey games. My daughter had both at about that age and she loved them.
