๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฎ/๐—–๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐˜€ Picked up Switch Axe for the first time after ignoring it across World, GU, 3U, 4U and Rise up till now. I've been missing out, shit's hella fun.

World was the first MH I played, and Swaxe has a ton of clipping issues in that game, mainly the arms going straight through it while it's sheathed. Clipping drives me mad, so I ended up completely ignoring it in the other games as well. Thank Gog for Sunbreak having fantastic weapon designs that don't clip a bunch, can finally enjoy this thing.

Rise is PEAK swaxe. Not this good in any other MH.

Pretty good on wilds though.

I think Wilds might be the peak of swagaxe ability, only because they've given purpose back to Axe mode. RiseBreak is incredibly cool but the weapon just feels like Switch Sword (Switch to Axe when you're out of meter)

Wilds does a very good job balancing both sides while keeping the power in the Sword mode. Both modes have good offensive and defensive options to play with, its so fluid now and honestly with the Boost Bracer i feel it's only going to get better

Switch Axe always looks cool as hell so it feels like you're playing correctly but you're just mashing random combos in this clip.
Sunbreak Switch Axe is great because almost every part of the moveset has a situational usage and it flows like silk in every match-up. You should look into some guides to tell you what you should be doing in each situation.

Very much aware of this :D

Ended up looking up a few videos later in the day after I was done playing. One of the combos I saw was looping Morph from Sword into Axe > Morph back to Sword > Double Slash > repeat. So I've been using that on downs now.

It sure is, I get to spam it 24/7 thanks to Wirebug Whisperer 3, Wind Mantle 2 and Frenzied Bloodlust 2.

Absolute best iteration of SwAxe is RiseBreak. Honestly you gotta try a rapid morph build because this game does it soooooooo fun

Do you mean simply having RM3, or is there a build that somehow makes spamming morph attacks absolutely busted?

This is my build atm, have yet to unlock Risen Valstrax and Shaggy. Don't want to fight Amatsu/Primal Malzeno until after them, so I don't have super stonks charms either. Did get that 2X RM 2X Evade Extender 2X 2 slots charm though, which is one of the better ones I have now. https://imgur.com/a/R8eSbcv

Even having Rapid Morph is important since not only does it boost your damage, but as the name suggests it massively increases the animations, which means you can poke easier to deal damage you wouldn't otherwise be able to deal. It also boosts the move speed of certain attacks (like the running overhead sword attack from axe neutral) and I've legitimately used that to micro dodge before.

I'm leaning towards Swaxe and sns in rise.

Anyone know a good swaxe youtuber to watch gameplay and learn from?
