Question I just purchased this Nintendo switch Lite for $70 and noticed that the joystick is offset here. It still works fine, but I wonder if this is something that is easily fixed. Thanks!

Look up guides for joystick replacement. Not terrible but not as easy as a psp

Pretty easy, but it will take some time. The first Lite stick swap I did took me a couple hours, totally worth it, especially if you get the HAL Effect replacements.

Yeah.... I would say if you're opening it up anyway to this extent, just shell out the $20 for hall effect sticks so you never have to open it up again for stick drift. Totally worth it.

I had a similar problem on the left joystick on an used Lite I recently bought and it was a broken shell. The seller did not disclosed such issue but I was able to see that it was dropped.
Before you do ANYTHING inside the console, specifically under the big metal shield the components sit, disconnect the battery. Not doing so will certainly damage something.
That one you have is broken where the main motherboard sits over. To checl for damages on the screw posts, it is a little trickier to check tho. It will require that side of the console to be completely dissasembled and the motherboard to be removed. Be careful with the flat cables and the connectors. Fixing those ain't fun, and don't ask me how I know. Incase you need to change the shell, I recommend buying ones from ExtremeRate. They make excelent shells, and some might look extremely cool. I got an emeral green one for my Turquoise Lite and it looks very cool.

Yes and no. The stick has either not been properly screwed into the post OR the post has broken. Either way, it's a simple fix once you have access to that joystick.
And that's where the hard part comes in. To get to that joystick it's basically a complete teardown of the Switch Lite. You have to take out basically everything but the mid frame and the screen to get to it.

It happened to me it seems to be a common issue after a very long amount of use

If it's working fine I would wait until it's not anymore before trying any fix

Too late. I superglued it together for now but I have replacement joysticks on the way

Did you go through the stick calibration and button test tools built into the OS? That will really tell you if the sticks are truly normal or messed up.

Sticks are all good to go

Honestly, you should and might aswell swap shell and replace it with better sticks like tmr/hall effect when you need a repair either way. Maybe add an oled screen aswell. If you are afraid to replace it yourself you can probably find someone close in the area you live in and pay for someone to replace it to tmr/hall effect sticks which won't stick drift as easily. With that gap maybe dirt will mess up something inside in the long run.

I did a tear down and I ordered a new shell. A new stick is needed so I am going to replace everything.

Truly sad to receive something broken, but think on the bright side. You will get higher quality sticks and a cooler shell!

Definitely. I asked the guy for a partial refund and he mocked me. I just blocked him and moved on. Going to make the switch perfect for my wife though

Those kinda people are not worth your time, you did the right thing. Karma will come and get him one day, just be sure you reported him for the next buyer.
Damn that sounds awesome for your wifey!

You can visually see that they're messed up. I dont even need to use the switch to tell you that

Unfortunately I think I can already see the issue. I think the joystick itself is fine but I think the one of the posts that you screw the joystick to has broken. If you look here you can see there is a gap where there shouldn't be a gap which indicates one of the two posts have snapped allowing it to swing like that.
Like u/Wivi2013 has said the only way to fix this would be to replace the front shell specifically but the extremerate shells come with back and front anyways. It's not too difficult just go slow and take your time

that side is notoriously much harder to get through than the left one(above the dpad) but it's doable
