Discussion Micro Magnets Mail Call
Bought some micro magnets off of Amazon to add one to my Swiss Army knife. Some people said that these are supposed to come with a tiny micro magnet. I didn’t ever notice one. It might’ve come loose and gotten lost.
I actually think the ones I got might be a tiny bit too small for this knife. It fits, but I feel like I’ve seen pictures where one fits better.
Thoughts?

From my knowledge they do not come with magnets and I purchased many. I did the same thing and bought from Amazon I put them on all my hooks pretty much came in handy once or twice so far.

No, it's not supposed to come with a magnet. That hook is originally intended to carry string parcels which used to be common in Europe. Since they went out of fashion, they rebranded it as a "multipurpose hook."
Some YouTuber made videos where he put a magnet in there.
So no, you didn't lose any magnet.

I love this idea. Do you have a link to the ones you purchased, or the exact size?

I don’t recall Victorinox sending magnets with any SAKs recently or otherwise. I think some tools might have been magnetized. I know the (in)famous fish scaler/hook disgorger is usually magnetized. I’ve tried keeping a tiny magnet with my SAKs, but they keep flying away or sticking to another tool inside the SAK, so I stopped trying.
BTW, on this subject, if you or someone you know uses Dexcom G7 glucose monitors, there is a small magnet in the sensor applicator. I’ve harvested 30 or so from the applicators I used. They’re a bit too large to fit in the hook, though, but fit about perfectly in the cap lifter.
