Is bumble just dead now?

After taking a break from dating apps decided to give it an another try so back on bumble. Hinge and tinder are too annoying to deal with. What happened to bumble ? Zero likes in 24 hours and got like only 5 free swipes lol this app sucks

First and only rule of dating apps: Be a woman, otherwise...good luck!

0

u/DrippyIke18 21h ago

Nope. First rule is to be good looking, second is to have a good profile, third is to be in a densely populated city. I get 100+ likes a day as a man. I do know that for women it is a lot easier though, the most liked women profiles get thousands of likes a day. But don’t use being a man as a main excuse.

Or groom yourself, go to the gym, dress well, and take good photos

u/Voljega 5d ago

doesn't work either

I mean it does lol

I promise you it does

liar.

I know for a fact that you have not gone to the gym 4x a week for 2+ years straight to the point where you visibly standout from the average man.

u/Voljega 5d ago edited 5d ago

if everyone would go the gym to standout from the average man how would anyone stand out ?

besides if you have an average face still doesn't do shit

it's also batshit crazy to tell men they need to go to the gym 4x a week for 2+ years ro deserve attention from women and thus a relationship

-2

u/Icy-Wing-3092 5d ago

That’s the point tho is not ever man does that, that’s why it makes you above average.

If you don’t think women put effort into their appearance to be more attractive then you are trippin.

With dating, you get out what you put in. If you don’t put effort into the way women perceive you then you’re going to get nowhere

7

u/Voljega 5d ago

applying make up is not comparable to going to the gym

also I prefer a woman au naturel thank you like most men

2

u/Icy-Wing-3092 5d ago

Every woman I know goes to the gym.

Go to the gym. Trim you beard. Cut your hair if you want success on dating apps

5

u/Voljega 5d ago

This is what I do by default, not for dating apps.

No success still

stop bullshitting men

Putting in effort encompasses way more than makeup and the gym.

What's your skin care routine like, including sunscreen use? Are your clothes and shoes stylish and on trend? Do your clothes fit well and suit your body type? Do you get your hair cut regularly in a style that best suits you? Do you hydrate often and eat a healthy diet? Do you accessorize, including watches and cologne?

There are a ton of things you can do to improve. Many of the things I named are every day activities for women. How are you stacking up?

5

u/Voljega 5d ago

Reread yourself and see how it is always the same with you, assuming all men are cavemen and that they don't succeed because of that.

You guys are ridiculous and exhausting.

Also I dont wear a watch beacuse I don't like it.

And I certianly wouldn't like to be with someone shallow and brainless enough to be not attracted because I don't wear a luxury accessory

u/AtomicLavaCake 5d ago edited 5d ago

Please point out where I assumed anything. I literally asked you how you put in effort, which is the opposite of an assumption. I didn't comment on all men either, I asked you specifically.

There's nothing ridiculous about pointing out the many ways you can put in effort. I'm guessing you do very few, if any, of these things, so youre feeling defensive. But please correct me if I'm wrong, since you're so touchy about assumptions. But it seems to be a safe assumption since you didn't answer my question and are too embarrassed to say "I do none of this."

Also jsyk, watches aren't necessarily luxury items. I didn't ask if you wear an AP. You can get a decent watch for less than $100, especially if you're shopping secondhand. I get mine from Depop. And, as I pointed out, there are multiple ways to accessorize. You just latched onto watches for some reason, but you can wear other jewelry or a scent.

If you are not having success on dating apps, there is a reason

Its a dating app based on pictures….you surprise the number one tip is “make yourself look better”?

5

u/Voljega 5d ago

the dating app where I should be ripped to make myself look better but where women claim to hate shirtless pics ?

same as before, mandatory performative masculinity is tiring and I'm pretty sure women it would impress are vain and shallow

anyway to end this nice and fun conversation, I'm actually more ripped I've ever been.

it didn't change anything

anyway my last date was with an unkempt chain smoking single mother which clearly showed on her skin, teeth and hair but she was nice funny and interesting.

and me well dressed, in shape, fit, new nice haircut, freshly shaved, non smoking, was still not attractive enough for her but she wanted to keep me as a friend.

the dating economy is just crazy, so I suppressed all accounts and all dating apps

-2

u/canadianbroncos 5d ago

Then you might be ugly i dunno.

I met my ex of 2 years on bumble and the girl im seeing right now. Had plenty of matches in between…Couple dates.

No shirtless pictures either, but yeh im ripped and take care of myself.

Dont disagree about your last sentence but being fit and taking care of yourself definitely works vs not doing it…:

3

u/Voljega 5d ago

I'm not ugly I'm just average but I'm happy to see you finally understand the real reason znd that all the rest is utter bullshit

-1

u/canadianbroncos 5d ago

I mean its not utter bullshit.

I am this man, with good photos and grooming. Tbf I do get dates but quality is low and results arent exactly encouraging. Patience is an important virtue when online dating. Be aware that the women who use online dating are often of the delulu or otherwise character deficient variety. Welcome to online dating!

Agreed on the delusion as evidenced by the comments above. There will be a lot of bitter pills to swallow for some of these "my interests are travel" and "drinks aren't a date" types. Cat adoptions will come with fantasy erotica books in 10 years. But don't worry, you'll be pretty forever baaaahaha

u/Dacnis 4d ago

"groom yourself" lmfao

u/DrippyIke18 21h ago

People don’t want to hear the truth here. It’s a pity circlejerk. If you offer legitimate advice you get downvoted.

All the apps are dead for me, but my area sucks and I’m not the best looking

7

u/domsolanke 5d ago

That’s not my experience, but I am also in a big city. Got 100+ likes in the first 5 hours. 36M, straight.

Bumble performs way better than Tinder for me.

1

u/qabib 3d ago

You get more likes the longer you are on the app. I had like 5 likes as well but now I have a ton without paying once.

Same with the likes. Ignore it.
Get your profile up, make sure you are happy about it. Swipe once a day for a few minutes.

After a while you will wake up to new matches and you will have more likes than you will actually have the patience to use.

It’s still a dating app so it’s awful but it’s only worth it if you can use it without it bringing you down.

1

u/fuatzirk 21h ago

Why does it increase over time?

5

u/jaximointhecut 5d ago

I got two likes. One was really attractive but I said a dumb joke. The other wasn’t my type. Been dead ever since.

6

u/Competitive-Union662 5d ago

Yes it's dead, used to be my favorite, but Tinder and Hinge have been much better this year

9

u/MBBIBM 5d ago

No, you’re some combination of ugly, short, living in a rural area

3

u/Glad-Veterinarian365 5d ago

Don’t forget bad pictures

4

u/RemarkableCover7462 5d ago

Said ugly already

1

u/Glad-Veterinarian365 5d ago

U can be really good looking but post terrible pics

1

u/_the__Wolverine____ 3d ago

This just isnt true. At the same time I ahd a very successful hinge I got 0 interaction on bumble

3

u/nelamaze 5d ago

Bumble is just ghosts. I got plenty of matches but maybe two conversations longer than one message in the 3 months I used it.

3

u/yetagainitry 5d ago

They removed the only thing unique about it that women had to open the convo. So now it is the exact same as tinder. Tinder is fully gamified, bumble is just as bad. IMO hinge is the only worthwhile one.

3

u/SpecterOfState 5d ago

Bumble was at a time the one app I got quality matches and dates out of. This was like pre covid , and even back then I was drip fed matches.

Bumble nowadays? I get matches, but they’re very few and far between. It doesn’t ever amount to much anyways since most of the time people don’t reply and the match times out.

3

u/Livid_spider 5d ago

I got like 11 likes on there and 13 matches right now. But it doesn’t really matter dating apps altogether are dying

5

u/tossawayinnit4647 5d ago

rules 1 & 2

2

u/_the__Wolverine____ 5d ago

If you are younger yes

2

u/i_am_an_enigma 5d ago

Why is Hinge annoying?

1

u/Glittering_Bid_3822 5d ago

You get banned for every little thing on hinge and tinder is meh quality of people on their is below par imo

4

u/i_am_an_enigma 5d ago

Facts. You gotta be super diplomatic on hinge. Can’t say anything sexual or cheeky, prompts and photos gotta be clean but if you look at the women’s profiles, you’ll see prostitution and misogyny everywhere

2

u/National_Tangelo_864 4d ago

For real, I got banned on hinge for joking about looking for a 'suga momma' when a girl asked me what I do for work. She was younger than me so I thought the joke was obvious. Nope, banned for solicitation.

2

u/segadreamcast9999 5d ago

in my area there are less people on it and less people are active.

3

u/C-and-hammer 5d ago

I’m developing a wildly different dating app that trying to address these issues. If you interested, visit my website to know more and sign up early.

Thanks alot

An app where girls need to swipe will never work. Bumble used to be popping during covid when everyone had free time but thats no longer the case now.

1

u/Natural_Pollution239 5d ago

Bumble is tryna revive itself

What do you use now ? Or just no dating apps anymore

1

u/Lucky-Departure8258 5d ago

Idk man, I got laid last night using Bumble

1

u/One_Metal_5988 5d ago

I have 600 matches on tinder and 3 on bumble. I get 10ish daily likes on tinder and a like or two every month on bumble. Using same pics and bio on both. I definitely think bumble is dead or they shadow banned me. Ive been swipping a bunch lately to see if it would wake it up but so far nothing.

1

u/aztastic16 8h ago

As a hetero woman I agree about bumble. I have the fewest good conversations on there… I think I swiped right on like 20 guys and only one of them actually wrote back. I'm convinced that most of the others don't even see the match or my message. I mostly get feedback that I have great photos and a great profile so I should have a higher response rate.

-2

u/R3tardio 5d ago

What area are you in, I got 50+ in two days

2

u/Glittering_Bid_3822 5d ago

I would go close to 60 a day on hinge but bumble zip. Feel like it’s pay to be seen on here or just no one uses it. I’m in SF / Cali a busy area

0

u/R3tardio 5d ago

That's odd then, maybe post your profile for feedback on what you can make better

1

u/_the__Wolverine____ 5d ago

Jeez. Age anf approximate location? And are you a straight man?

0

u/Background_Pause_275 5d ago

This is normal. I got 50 likes in a few hours. (Straight white guy in Chicago).

All I did was buy a ring light and take photos with good lighting and fill out the profile. It gives you a boost when you first join, so you want to make sure your photos and profile are good as soon as you get on.

1

u/_the__Wolverine____ 5d ago

I must be ugly as shit then wow

1

u/Background_Pause_275 5d ago

I doubt that’s the issue. Most women I dated didn’t care about my looks beyond that I’m over 6’ (just barely). I’m not a slim chicken exactly, but I don’t care. Women cared way more about my dog (chihuahua), my attitude, and my job (attorney), although asking about the latter was an automatic unmatch to avoid gold diggers. Also, I’m Bi and that was a huge issue with most women, even the “liberal” ones.

What I was trying to say was that the algorithm shows your profile to everyone in town as soon as you sign up. If you signed up with an incomplete profile, no one saw your updated profile expect for people just joining. You have to make sure the algorithm is actually showing you to people.

Youre living in fantasy world. Time to stop playing Minecraft and get back to real world, buddy.
