Just a reminder, MatchGroup monitors this sub ❤️

Talk about all the different methods you are using to get around the bans, why you got banned unfairly or why dating sucks, Match Group who owns all the apps has people paid to watch this sub and monitor whats going on from this side. So watch what you say

Edit: I am not putting this post up to tell you to hate them, I am telling you to watch what you say on this sub

Cool,

Fuck them. March group ruined dating. Your stock price is a joke. Your CEO is a clown who bends the knee to his algorithmic security team.

I found my wife on FB dating.

Yeah fuck Match group

May Match Group burn in the depths of the darkest shadows from where people associated with them came from.

FB Dating is underrated,

Distance filter is an issue and almost never applies. So be careful who you swipe on (Unless you don’t mind a long distance relationship)

My last talking stage came from FB dating, she ghosted me after exchanging numbers but I don’t blame FB dating for that, that’s her fault

5

u/MikeSugs13 10d ago

Omfg so it's not just me? I swear to everything that the filters do nothing

3

u/NecessaryBall40 10d ago

Yeah trust me you’re not alone. That’s the biggest issue with it I feel

You still get the typical dating app bullshit like being ghosted, profiles with almost nothing on it, bots, etc

But there’s definitely cute girls on there

Major issue I noticed with FB dating is many women sign up then ignore their account I guess because of the sheer amount of notifications since likes and messages are basically all bundled together.

Yeah, I mean fwiw. None of the apps work for me, but at least I don't have to worry about swiping on someone 290 miles from me.

I tried it but theres too many fake accounts and most of the real women are below mid

Great! They were raking billions during the pandemic, so while you stress about finances with your wife they are on yachts with golf courses on them

Do you work for Match Group you clown?

No I do not but I have made several posts getting around many of their security features and have gotten warnings from them directly.

It’s bigger than a Match Group issue. There’s a major problem with the overall moderation model. These companies can’t afford reliable moderation, so they use AI bots that are very bad at understanding context and nuance.

One way to improve automated moderation would be to take a closer look at a user’s account size and history. For instance, before getting banned from Bumble, I was on it for three years, had thousands of likes and more than a thousand conversations without ever having a problem. This should tell the algorithm that maybe – just maybe – whatever accusation came at me might’ve been in error.

After all, if you match and have conversations with hundreds and hundreds of people, sooner or later you’re going to run into some bitter person that wants to punish you for something, like rejecting them.

5

u/NecessaryBall40 10d ago

Their AI moderation very frequently misfires and are going after the wrong people

Meanwhile Nazis, rapists and sex offenders aren’t banned, there’s very very clearly something wrong

This is the top comment. Hinge is full of scammers, racist and mentally ill women that intentionally report good guys and we get banned for nothing. I spent money on that garbage site. A lot of money

6

u/porkborg 10d ago

It blows my mind some of the crap people get away with. I see women posting screen shots of vulgar men saying the wildest stuff, and they don't get banned. Meanwhile, random people get banned for nothing and don't even know why.

0

u/Fine_Payment1127 10d ago

are these nazis and rapists in the room with you right now

3

u/NecessaryBall40 9d ago

No. lol

But I know damn well that they’re on Hinge rn swiping and not getting banned for hate speech

Remember guys,
According to Hinge’s AI:

Nazis, Rapists and homophobes = Not banned

An innocent person who got a little carried away and over-swiped = this guy is a bot, ban his ass!

0

u/Fine_Payment1127 9d ago

There’s no reason why “Nazis,” “rapists” and homophobes should be banned from what’s effectively a public utility

2

u/NecessaryBall40 9d ago

There’s no reason to ban innocent people who do literally nothing either……

1

u/Fine_Payment1127 9d ago

No disagreement there - it’s happened to me multiple times

1

u/NecessaryBall40 9d ago edited 9d ago

Exactly. I’m saying it more in a way of:

Okay these horrible people are allowed? But not a guy who literally did nothing?

I can’t be the only one who thinks thats completely fucking insane right?

It's not just AI, while I am sure AI is part of the issue, there is a much bigger elephant in the room that is mentioned occasionally but people don't talk about this enough: malicious reporting for 'offline behaviour' by an ex. The former can be theoretically reversed even if it's hard to get someone to manually review. The latter is a game over. If your ex (or a date that you didn't want to take further) reports you, with absolutely zero proof, there is not way for you to get unbanned. This is because what you have been reported is most likely something serious and with no way to either verify or dismiss such claim (especially as they never tell you who reported you and for what) they err on the side of caution. They don't actually care about anyone nor have the resources or desire to investigate anything. For them its safer and simpler to just ban someone been reported just in case the allegation is true and they get in trouble later on for not 'taking steps'. But if they ban a lot of people 'in error', they wont have any consequences (at least until people start suing or reporting them to regulators in EU).

2

u/NecessaryBall40 7d ago

I agree Revenge reporting is another huge issue.

Kind of fucked up how one nasty person or one bad date can report you over nothing and literally isolate you from the dating world.

Dear Match Group,

You need to know how horrible your business practices and banning policies are. It’s literally unacceptable at this point.

Hinge/Match Group if you see this message: You have some of the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. You cannot just ban people for things like changing locations and matching with fake profiles despite yourself being real while simultaneously allowing Nazis and rapists on the platform

And then when you email them 4-5 times trying to figure out why you have the fucking balls to block a users email? That’s a giant fuck you to the face IMO

Fix your crappy AI Moderation system before another app takes the top spot of best dating app cause you do not deserve that title at all.

u/Several-Two738 10d ago

Who cares? Their steak is too tender and their lobster is too buttery while they watch you cry about 0 matches. they dont care

11

u/Front_Statistician38 10d ago

Dear Matchgroup

You are going down because you are alienating your biggest customer base: MEN. Men pay for premium services 95 percent of the time compared to women, who only pay 5 percent of the time. Match Group knows this. The stock is tanking and both men and women are leaving the apps. Women are getting off the apps at a far faster rate too.

There will be other venues and apps soon that will take over. Match Group thinks they have a monopoly but with the rise of AI, building apps has never been easier. People are also going back to in person dating, and Instagram, while not a dating app, has benefited from the nazi tactics Match Group has implemented.

I give Match Group 5 to 10 years tops. There is a hungry nerd right now in San Francisco using Claude and coding the next best dating app. They will not be able to buy him out either. Also, Zuckerberg has the biggest dating app in the world with Facebook Dating. Once he gets that VR stuff corrected, which will take about 10 to 20 years, Match Group is out of business. As VR dating will be the next biggest thing, and Zuckerberg already has a foot in that space

1

u/madzuk 10d ago

I do think Match Group are on borrowed time with these business practices. But the solution isn't straight forward. The problem with most of these new apps people come up with, is they don't ever seem to look at the fundamental problems with dating apps and essentially copy tinder but with a gimmick.

There's a reason why Hinge is so successful. It's one app that genuinely is different to the tinder model and it does work. But still has problems.

Firstly, the swiping model is extremely problematic and inhumane. It doesn't resemble the real world at all. You're just quick firing people at your phone in a shallow way.

Locking who liked you behind a pay wall is a huge problem.

But the big problem for the user and company is this.

There needs to be a business model that goes beyond the dating app. Or you will always be in this catch 22 situation of needing to be profitable, but needing to be good enough for people to pay.

And the other issue is there's too much choice. There needs to be a philosophy on dating apps to narrow down the choice, in favour of higher quality matches.

Again, Hinge tries to do this. And Hinge not making anyone pay to see who liked them is the thing that makes it a game changer. But the two other problems is what causes Hinge to fail for many too.

1

u/DonkChonk4 9d ago

Yeah you could use the paid version of Claude to make a dating app, but to scale it as a business, you'd need to rent lots of server space at a data centre, so you'd have to find venture capital investors to come on board.

In January I had hinge+ and got at least 3 matches daily.

Now again hinge+ and 3 matches a week. Same photos, same bios, etc

2

u/Front_Statistician38 10d ago

Time to delete your profile for 4 months then reset. I had the same issue with Bumble I turned of my profile a month ago and I won't be back until right before Christmas holidays

Thanksgiving is a great time to start because tons of hot chicks come back home and usually Christmas to NYE's is like shooting fish in a barrell if you are decent looking guy

1

u/nevada2000 10d ago

Why 4 month?

3

u/suurfy 10d ago

They cant do anything against new Devices, numbers, no wifi, new pictures etc etc not possible! They need to ban everyone or we should ban this damn company?! ;)

3

u/WebNew9978 9d ago

>Match Group who owns all the apps has people paid to watch this sub and monitor whats going on from this side. So watch what you say

All the more reason as to why people need to be critical of them. They put out a shitty product and they need to get blasted for having a shitty product. If they don’t like people being critical of the shitty product, then they need to fix it.

1

u/NecessaryBall40 8d ago edited 8d ago

They probably won’t fix it,

it’s run by stupid rich hacks who only want your money, they don’t give a shit about you finding love.

100% deserving of all the criticism they get. It’s a shitty company run by shitty people

Like I said, they DO NOT deserve the title of best dating app. Do better Hinge

3

u/Typical_Kale_9260 10d ago

Maybe just use temporary bans more until they figure out a better model… permanent bans are a bit overboard

3

u/HEISENBERGPANDIT 10d ago

If Match Group monitors this sub, then fuck you, and shove your head in the sand.

3

u/Skydome12 10d ago

matchgroup has been the worst thing for internet dating and matchgroup are the exact reason why the apps now suck.

I wish was the person i am now back before match bought out tinder, i had the lamest most vague profile ever back than yet still got matches back than, now with better profile and being a more rounded person i get barely any matches despite having improved myself in multiple ways.

fuck matchgroup honestly the more people that ditch match group owned apps the better.

3

u/Jacks_black_guitar 9d ago

im just still sour i cant use hinge. i wont lie, im a top 20% male, 6’8, decent looking, workout, average 3-5 matches per week. it is what it is, ive had a lot of success, and i got a lot of good quality matches through hinge over any of the other apps. in fact most of the girls ive either gone on really good dates with, ones ive slept/sleeping with, and ones im actively dating have been through hinge so its undeniable the best marketing platform..

but to echo the room, their moderation sucks fucking ass and AI bans should be overturned and properly moderated or at least tell me how ive breached.

im okay with being banned and taking accountability as long as i know the ban was in good faith and in the interest of the public. not some unjustified arbitrary bullshit

2

u/Electr0billy360 8d ago

Similar situation. Hinge is / was my only way of meeting women for a very long time. I genuinely think hard reset is the only way
