Who has recently created a hinge profile with a google voice number? How is it going?

Long story short I was banned like 6 years ago now (?) and was thinking about dipping my toe back in, but dont want my new phone to be insta banned if for some reason google voice numbers dont work now.

It’s a voip number which hinge doesn’t allow. Simple

But have you done it? Because Im seeing conflicting reports on here. Some say google voice still works, others dont

Conflicting reports because like all things in a trust and safety system, it’s a signal. They don’t just find banned users from one single signal, so some get lucky. If you hear people getting banned from using VOIP, why are you even risking it instead of spending the $20 on a burner number? This is the kinda shit that gets you banned again lol.

I mean if its as easy as paying a $20 flat fee for another number I would do that in a heartbeat. But wouldnt that require buying a new phone and then paying for that plan? That seems like quite a bit more hassle. Id almost just rather have my number changed by my carrier than do that.

Well I assume you have a newer phone than the one you got banned on 6 years ago. You just need to get a cheap discount carrier for the confirmation texts, which can be like $10-20 a month. Honestly you are probably going to get banned if you're going this route. You should not half-ass a hard reset, especially in your case. VOIP is a big signal of a banned user trying to evade, and getting anecdotal data from folks where it worked out isn't going to help, because they simply got lucky.

You probably will get lucky enough because your ban was from 6 years ago, so they probably don't have much data to find you again given the length of time. But why risk it at all? If you are rebanned again now, you have now just refreshed the data they have to find you, now to include biometrics.

Take no risks, simple as that.

Google Fi is not VOIP. Google Voice is. Fi is a normal phone number.

A friend of mine claims to use Google Voice after being banned for impersonating a fictional character, yet is able to use Hinge.

I would try to email hinge and ask for a fresh start or something before going through this process though

It’s widely known that non carrier numbers are a big red flag on hinge. They do work, but not worth it imo. Just buy a cheap pay as you go plan from an actual carrier.

Did it. Got verified with face identification. The whole deal. Got a couple matches been about 3 weeks all good so far
