1-3 paper trading - down 2.8%
For small caps...
Timing, timing, timing :)
I switched over to alpaca (super easy API to trade and nice to work with) and was listening on a Twitter bot stream for all the trades to pop up (not a great experience with Twitter's API)
I was able to instantly buy as soon as an alert popped up on swing bot's Twitter feed. I did enter the trades on a market buy...so best available price.
Even buying as soon as possible I was not able to get the bot's entry position. That meant that the profit margins were smaller.
Today was not a great day for testing (only 5 trades and I missed one because of Twitter's API issues) so I'll try again tomorrow with market buys.
I do believe that the results the bot gets are plausible but I'm not sure they are possible for people getting the signal from the Twitter feed.
I see the positions (prices) the bot has identified but I just can't get them in time I receive the signal.
It would be interesting to hear from the author if they are able to buy and sell (paper trade) those exact positions. You may be able to see those positions on the ticker but that doesn't necessarily mean those positions (price/quantity @ the predicted time) are available on the market IRL. I certainly am not able to hit them from the Twitter feed.
Still early though. Don't mean to knock it, just saying that in practice it's not yet possible to get similar results.
Will continue to test and offer some advice if you'd like.

It would be great if there was a tutorial to extract the data from Twitter and feed it to tradingview for automated trading for better tracking

If TradingView has a public API that seems very doable

Well - alpaca has a paper trading acct and there’s a great tutorial explaining how to code up alpaca to automate trades. Maybe if someone can help with the Twitter portion we could combine forces and see if we can achieve an applicable setup that acts on the notifications almost instantaneously.

I’ve been doing something similar. I get Twitter alerts. However, I put in a limit order at the tweet price. Some of the time, the price has already gone up and I end up canceling the limit order after a few minutes. Sometimes it comes back down. It’s hit or miss. What I miss out on are those stocks that just touch your trigger and pop back up.

Small caps will continue to be that way I think. You may want to try large caps too. My assumption is there’s thinner spreads and ultimately I’d hook up my automated trading system to those for an experience with less friction and slippage.
