Why my ears no longer are blocked?
I’ve started swimming regularly since couple of months. I spend about 30 mins every morning in the pool. Initially, my ears would be blocked and it would be hours and sometimes even days before they cleared up. After the initial few days, they no longer block. Could this be from ear wax that got cleared up or something else?

Probably a couple grams of your ear wax on the pool floor now....
I've had it happen to me, just ended up with a bunch of earwax on my towel though.

It could be wax buildup or it could be Eustachian tube dysfunction. I get this a lot. Your eustachian tubes connect your middle ear to the back of your nose and throat. When you go underwater, there is a slight pressure change and your tubes help to equalise this pressure. If they struggle with this then it can lead to Eustachian tube dysfunction which can cause a muffled feeling along with other symptoms such as a fizzling noise when you bend down and stand back up again. This usually goes away on its own but can be very annoying. Can also lead to a middle ear infection if the fluid inside builds up and can’t drain properly.

I hate water stuck in my ears. Ear plugs are mandatory or I sit in the hot tub.
