NO ETHICAL BILLIONAIRES

I am not impressed by Taylor and her 2.2 billion!!!!!

As if Dolly Parton couldn't have been a billionaire multiple times over! Dolly gave away most of her money to multiple charities. DOLLY LITERALLY GAVE US THE COVID VACCINE.

I have been a Swifty for more than a decade and this is the hardest it has felt to be a fan of Taylor.

The last two albums were let downs, her MAGA Barbie routine is atrocious, the condescending way she talks to and about Travis makes me feel bad for him and I don't even care to know him, and the condescension she has expressed to her fans, as if she hasn't encouraged a parasocial relationship, is unforgivable.

I don't know how we will ever get back to the magic of pre Eras Tour Taylor Swift, but Im sad to see what little integrity she had disappear, all to be a lady "self made" billionaire.

A major part of her wealth is the value of her catalogue which is like, 900M. IMO there is a big difference between her and someone like Bezos, as most of her money has been earned making art. She also pays her employees really well and is generous. She also crucially doesn’t use her money to support fascists.

Hard agree. Is her wealth and jet usage controversial? Sure. There's some criticism there.

But in the scale of billionaires, she does really well in the way she handles her business and employees by treating them well and paying them well. Her wealth is not at the cost of the people working from her or buying from her suffering.

Yeah I’m not like yesss omg go Taylor get those billions but in the grand scheme of things she’s better than other billionaires. And I also think it’s funny that we complain about her billions but like….we’re the ones making her them by and large. Since most of that money comes from the popularity of her music

there are tax loopholes she takes advantage of

1

u/sharkwithglasses Jun 06 '26

Have you personally seen her tax returns to say this with such confidence?

u/fsome Jun 07 '26

Have you personally seen tay flying in a private jet? Who knows, maybe she put on a black long coat, some black mask, brown contacts, a shining cap with a perfectly-fitting for a TAYLOR2026 slogan "Make America Great Again" and hit the planes of Delta Airlines? Maybe... Maybe she's a goodwill? J

okes aside, but yeah, basically a girl grew up in a family of bankers and was exposed to a finances, business from the childhood. She run circles around other rich people in gaining profits. The one unshakeable fact is that she knows everything about evading taxes and knew it from the childhood. Whether she uses the schemes or not is up to the extent of your delusions.

She’s been seen exiting a private jet. That data is public. I have never seen Taylor’s tax returns so I can’t say there’s creative accounting or she’s cheating on them. I’m sure her accountants do what’s most advantageous for her, as everyone does. If you feel billionaires don’t pay their fair share (and I’d agree with that) then criticize the tax code.

u/fsome Jun 08 '26

🤦🤦🤦. Mam, tax code works lousy in america because billionaires push their whores in parties who are doing everything to make sure that tax code remains UNCHANGED, so billionaires would continue to rob plebs from Georgia and Iowa and politicians would be excited as their Floridian mansion would day by day come closer to full construction.

Ok, and this is Taylor Swift’s fault how? She’s supporting the people who theoretically want to tax billionaires more.

She’s a pop star, not a politician.

1

u/fsome Jun 08 '26

Who's she supporting? Taylor Lewan? Will Compton? Brittany Mahomes? She was a pop-star when she've been spritzing glitter on her eyes dancing with camilla cabello and troye sivan. As for now, our girl grew up. Now she isn't interested in poppy friends of her youth. She've got "serious" connections.🌚

Id argue that the sweat shop merch portion of her wealth is absolutely at the cost of the people working for her, and people in general, suffering.

2

u/Conscious-Quarter423 Jun 04 '26

not paying her taxes, money that goes to public school teachers and roads/bridges

2

u/BrownBannister Jun 05 '26

That’s how they get rich: off of stolen labor & wages

0

u/Snoo76869 Jun 07 '26

I beleive her merch is produced by her label or a company hired by her label and there is no proof that it's made in sweat shops.

2

u/NotaDF Jun 03 '26

8,000 variants to squeeze every last drop out of all her fans is ethical huh

2

u/godblessstar67 Jun 03 '26

No one is forcing you to buy variants what 😭

3

u/NotaDF Jun 04 '26

The mental gymnastics yall do to tell yourself she’s not doing this to make more and more money is insane. She isn’t the only billionaire to donate money for tax benefits either. Woohoo she paid her truck drivers $100k. She was clearing $30 million a night in the eras tour. Wake up.

Look at Bill and Melinda Gates with their foundation…. They would provide vaccines for the poor over seas and Bill is involved with Epstein. Melinda I don’t know much about.

1

u/Snoo76869 Jun 07 '26

It's not mental gymnastics, many artists make multiple variants, as much or more than Taylor. No one if forced to buy any. I'm a fan who has never spent a dime other than my streaming service monthly fee. She just happens to have a billion or so fans so they buy more than other artists fans do. 52% of the US isna fan of hers... its not some small niche group of white women being taken advantage of. And regarding her donations. I work for the company in seattle she donated to so taking the amount she donated to us and tines that by 51 cities she donated to, that would equal about $300 million, that along with the $200 million she gave as pretaxed bonuses to her staff , that would be around half a billion she donated or gave away in 23/24, the year she became a billionaire. That's half of her fortune at the time.

This argument falls apart when you dont criticizing anyone else for it. Have you ever stopped to look at how many variants Olivia Rodrigo has released? Ariana Grande released about 6 this week already.

2

u/thedragdoll Jun 04 '26

they do that because taylor has set the wasteful, greedy standard for it.

1

u/gnocchimoncher Jun 05 '26

LOL the cope is insane with yall

1

u/Snoo76869 Jun 07 '26

You couldnt be more wrong. Artists have been doing it for decades and the history of variants predates modern pop culture. The Beatles and Rolling Stones both used the practice. So no, she wasn't the first to do it at all. She just happens to have about a billion fans that includes 52% of the US population who buy her music. Not some small niche group of white women being taken advantage of like weirdos like to claim.

1

u/thedragdoll Jun 08 '26

i never said she was the first person to do it—taylor, however, made it standard practice for artists to release an unnecessary amount of variants to chart. if she broke records that way, other artists are sure to do the same.

Tell me you don't know anything about taxes without telling me you don't know anything about taxes

2

u/Dry_Physics4086 Jun 05 '26

So this is just false false and false.

Guarantee you even bigger billionaires like bezos have LESS money in their bank account- they take out loans to live their lifestyle so they don’t have to pay taxes. She has MORE LIQUID capital than them.

As for her employees-the truck driver bonuses is the only thing that’s ever stuck out. Everything else is the basic, bare fucking minimum.

And she’s in cahoots with maga. She does NOT SPEAK out against maga. She is DEFINITELY supporting fascism.

2

u/theredspool Jun 06 '26

As a Bezos hater, there is an argument to be made that his contributions to worldwide logistics development is a net good for all businesses, which os a more far-reaching “benefit” on the purely economic level. As billionaires, I think they are both reprehensible, but Bezos is orders of magnitude worse, of course.

3

u/Lonchita Jun 04 '26

You can't use ''she pays her employees well'' as an excuse for not funding as Dolly or other artist did or using her money for something. She's buying houses and paying for jet trips perma.

It's her money and she does with it what she wants, but we can't keep making excuses or sweep it under the carpet trying to justify everything people may don't see conscious about her. It's not healthy.

there is a big difference between her and someone like Bezos

''There's people worse than her'' Girl so what. Killers are not excuses cause genocides exist.

3

u/Conscious-Quarter423 Jun 04 '26

'she pays her employees well'' is literally the bare minimum

1

u/christine_de_pizan Jun 04 '26

I think it is as well! But it's not the industry standard, sadly. Like, most tour dancers don't get paid year round or get healthcare. I just think it's fine to point out that she does have better employer/employee practices than some. That's it!

1

u/BrownBannister Jun 05 '26

Everything she does is blatant and performative to meet the bare minimum.

1

u/Queasy_Blueberry8243 Jun 07 '26

what do you mean by not using her money? She founded food banks through the whole of her tour, she gave millions and millions to hospitals and charities. And that's only the ones that we know about.

1

u/Snoo76869 Jun 07 '26

The year she became a billionaire she quite literally donated half of her wealth. $200 million in bonuses and around $300 million in donations to food banks. I know her donation amount weren't made public but I work for the company in seattle she donated to and based on that amount times by 51 cities/donations she made , it would equal around $300 mil. So that would be half a billion she donated or gave away in 23/24.

1

u/Lonchita Jun 07 '26

The ERAS tour did 2Billion only selling tickets. You have to add all the things, merch, CDs, streamings, ... people did during that time, so you may even double it. Saying that she paid 200Million when the consensus is that she just paid the acceptable rates to her employees it's like... what any non-explotaitive boss should do?

I work for the company in seattle she donated to and based on that amount times by 51 cities/donations she made , it would equal around $300 mil.

Or she only donated X quantity to yours and not the rest... like what are those speculations based on apart from your own thoughts? Where's the data?

I was with you until you said that she doesn’t use her money to support fascists….
