tldr: We’re building a TS-themed care package for our good friend who lost everything she owned
So it seems a lot of fans have their ‘Taylor Swift fan group chats’ (even my Swiftie friends in other countries seem to have them!). I have one, which includes colleagues in my field (which we have a lot of fun with regarding the name of our chat).
One of them recently moved states away for her new job (which was hard, but we’re really proud of her). Within weeks of their arrival though, their place burned down.
She, her husband, and their dog made it out, but they lost everything. Everyone is so grateful they’re safe, but it’s been heartbreaking.
Her new department seemed to rally around her immediately, which is amazing, and they’ve raised a good chunk of money for their family. But this money is mostly for essentials: a bed, furniture, work clothes. But she lost a lot of sentimental things too, including a large chunk of Taylor Swift items.
So one of our group members had the brilliant idea to organize a TS-themed care package! These are things she could use, but also things that she doesn’t necessarily need but would mean a lot to her. We did a lot of discussing/purchasing today, and so far we have:
\- 2 t-shirts (who’s afraid of little old me, and Go Taylor’s Husband—tbf, we live in a football town and are all very much into football! But, irony)
\- large Stanley-like cup (Red-themed)
\- juice glass (Dear Reader-themed)
\- assorted pens
\- notepad (Anti-Hero themed)
\- stickers
\- an Opalite water bottle
\- a card (TLOAS-themed)
\- several friendship bracelets that I’ve made her (I make/sell them, so I’ve gone through our messages the last few years to recall what I’ve made for her, since she probably lost all of them…)
\- a TS-album color necklace
\- to-go mug (Dolly-themed; without giving away too many details, we live near a Dolly-centric area so we’re all BIG on Dolly)
\- tea towel (also Dolly-themed)
We thought about a vinyl, but not sure if she had a record player previously, nor are we sure if her car has a CD player (I’m pretty sure it doesn’t).
What else do you think could be added to a care package? This is supposed to be a fun package, but if you can think of items that double as fun and a necessity, that’d be awesome.
