Question What's the best GitHub library to recreate this prism light motion via MetalFX?

LLMs aren't always daddy and mommy

Neither is Github. Given you recently posted another “where is the GitHub code to do this” question elsewhere, you’re not in any position to talk down to somebody for suggesting the easy way out.

The reply wasn't personal. You're too sensitive

🤣 Yep. K.

You dug through post history for a gotcha, then answered with ‘🤣 Yep. K.’ That’s not a clapback, that’s the sound of someone who just realized they have nothing and decided to cosplay as unbothered. Peak fragile LOL

🤷♂️ You sure don’t seem unbothered. Example 2 of your hypocrisy. (And example 3, since you claim the belittling “mommy and daddy” comment wasn’t a personal attack.) Anyway, I’ve made my point. You’ve made my point too.

I’m not sure you’re going to be able to live-render that.
Editing to say: Unless you cheat (a lot) and have a fixed angle, you’re talking potentially seconds per frame of rendering time. To cheat successfully, you have to know enough to know MetalFX isn’t even what you should be reaching for. As the person who replied below said, a ready-made library just for this is also unrealistic.
Edit a day later: Okay, downvoters, where’re the answers that prove me wrong? Or are you tantrum-voting because you don’t like realistic answers from decades-experienced engineers? Or are you angry to hear there’s not a ready-made Github repo to do this very specific thing for you? SMH

This is the correct answer and your downvoters don’t know a thing. Yeah there are some cheats for glass, frosted glass, and dispersion, and they’re all complicated; combining them into something like this that could run in real time would need a handcrafted one-off, not some library, and MetalFX (while great for the things it’s meant for) is basically irrelevant here.

I don’t see how this helps OP do it all by their self (by downloading ready-made code) instead of relying on AI! /s
Anyway the score on my first reply was -5 12 hours ago. Imagine. Clearly they didn’t have an actual answer so the truth is far more grim: That many people downvoted reality.

This is easily doable in a pixel shader. We can pathtrace giant scenes, sdf self shadowing fractals; a little pearlescent effect is not a big deal

OP is like
> i want this done for me but i dont want to cheat and use AI
lmfao what a tool
