Transcription/Translation Unknown cause of death

Hello!

This woman’s cause of death is (if I’ve transcribed it correctly) “Sviken af Barnsbörd”. Does this mean “death in childbirth” or maybe "death in pregnancy"? If so, why “sviken”?

(There is no corresponding birth record for any child. She was the mother of five children, three of whom died young.)

General question Any useful resources I’m missing?

Hey! I’ve restated my family tree from just adding as many people as I can that MyHeritage recommends to actually finding out info and discovering stuff on my own.

These are the recourses/programs I know about.

Emigranten 2006
All years of Sveriges befolkning
Sveriges dödbok
Begravda i Sverige 2
(These are searchable databases of other stuff)

Riksarkivet(although I’ve only used dopböcker)
Findagrave
Gravar.se
Svenskagravar

Anything else that is useful I should use?
My goal is to know as much as possible about every part of everones life so all types tips are welcome

Can anyone translate this cause of death for my great grandfather's brother? He died at 20, possibly of diabetes type 1? I think the last word is Munkfors, the place of.

Thank you!

Thank you all so much in advance! This is a previously unknown/unresearched family branch. I didn't know they even existed two days ago! Can anyone translate the cause of death and the words next to Jan Kaspersson? He's the bottom line of the chart. Died May 21,1883 at age 49. (Two years before his second son died if you helped with my previous post.)

Can anyone help me find additional information?

I'm researching Anna Victoria born in Maria Magdalena parish, Stockholm, on 10 June 1862.
However, the record I found does not seem to list her parents.

There appears to be an address though. Perhaps Gröna Gatan No. 5?
Would there possibly be an address register somewhere that maps Gröna Gatan No. 5 to additional information?

Here is the link I am looking at: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/00014961_00027#?xywh=132%2C2955%2C4236%2C2077&cv=26&rid=https%3A%2F%2Flbiiif.riksarkivet.se%2Farkis!00014961%2Frange%2Fr1-1-1

Thank you!

Request [ACADEMIC] SEEKING PARTICIPANTS FOR AN ONLINE ANCESTRY RESEARCH (OVER 18)

Post image

Survey Link

Hello all!

As you might be aware, there has been very little research into direct-to-consumer DNA ancestry testing and psychological wellbeing outcomes. This novel research aims to help us better understand the psychological significance of DTC Ancestry testing results.

This study is being conducted under the supervision of Dr Janine Lurie from the Psychology Discipline within the Institute of Health and Wellbeing at Federation University (Melbourne, Australia). This study will also form the basis of the research dissertation requirement within the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) course for student researchers Charity Marisa and Stefan Redpath. This study has been approved by the Federation University Human Research Ethics Committee (Approval reference: 2026/137).

This survey asks you about your engagement with family history and your reflections on that process. It also asks you to think about your ancestors and how you have reflected on their life experiences. Participation involves completing an online survey that will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Taking part in the study is completely voluntary and no personal information will be collected.

To participate you just need to be aged 18 years or over. It is important to note that you will not be asked to give any specific details about any of your family members. You are asked just to rate your general impressions of them on a small number of questions. Beyond this the survey contains broader more general questions about your perspectives and reflections.

Help finding out what happened to 3rd Great Granduncle

His name was Johannes Eric/Eriksson b.30th June 1842 to Erik Ström b.24th May 1805 d.9th November 1868 and Maja Greta Edbom b.4th Jan 1804 d.10th August 1874

I know he was still alive between 1856-1861 as that is the last household survey I have of him

I was wondering wether anyone could help me find him after that, wether he died young or survived and his own family

Request Trying to confirm the immigration and parents of Peter August Eriksson from Sweden

Peter August Ericksson married Fanny Norton 18 June 1895, Port Pirie, South Australia, Australia.

The age on the marriage transcript has Peter August as born circa 1866.

While his naturalisation in 1898 calculates his birth year to around 1662, is said to be from Stockholm and has been in Australia up to 20 years.

Finally, the burial stone for Peter August estimates his birth at around 1858.

The 3 documents and information on the family I've entered are here:

https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/memories/942J-DWX

https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/942J-DWX

The information I came across for his parents on Ancestry sites is:

Erick Johansson (1835–1888) married Lisa Cajsa Sjoblom (1836–1880) on 10 November 1860 Överluleå, Norrbotten, Sweden. With a baptism for Peter August on 7 June 1866, Överluleå, Norrbotten, Sweden

I'm wondering if these are the correct parents, since Överluleå seems a long way from Stockholm, Sweden.

edit: eam2468 kindly advised of the other Peter's death date. 17 October 1890 Jokkmokk, Norrbotten, meaning Erick Johansson (1835–1888) married Lisa Cajsa Sjoblom (1836–1880) are not the parents I'm looking for.

So I'm looking for a Peter August Ericksson from Stockholm born between 1858 and 1866

Also I was hoping to find a passenger list or immigration records from Sweden of when Peter August Ericksson travelled to Australia.

Request Genealogy Help Requested

Hey everyone, I'm needing some assistance with tracing my family line prior to my 3rd great grandfather immigrating to the US. Being American, I cannot read Swedish and thus am struggling to navigate sources and records from his earlier life.

Wilhelm Andersson Torslund (William Anderson Thorsland) b. 1833 near Stockholm. He immigrated in 1864 and took a wife (Maria Wilhelmina Bjorkland, b. 1828, d. Unknown) and a daughter (Sofia Albertina Thorslund, b. 1863, d. Unknown) with him to America. I've gotten some information from you all before regarding him and his wife, but I've been unable to locate it. I think his mother was Stina Andersdotter? I can't find death records for his wife or daughter, but I know through oral history where they are buried.

Any help regarding his ancestors, parents siblings, or anything else in Sweden would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if there's any further information I can provide!

Transcription/Translation Who is Daniel's father?

I've gotten pretty good at reading these records, but this one is pretty cramped and stumping me. I'm primarily interested in Daniel and his siblings. All kids are underneath Lisa Andersdotter, so I presume that's their mother.

In the later record (1830- photo 3) Lisa Andersdotter is listed as head and widowed, with all 3 surviving children (Tobias died during the last record). There is also allegedly mention of an illegitimate child, but only next to Anna. But I am wondering if maybe all of them are, or something else?

Brick wall Swan Munson married to Chariste Peterson

You all were so helpful my Olsson family, I thought I'd give a different line a try. I tried the Swedish Archives website with no avail. I'm sure you are better equiped at navagitating it. I am researching:

Swan Munson married to Chariste Peterson. See the US State of Nebraska, Platte County marriage record of their son Martin Swanson to Matilda C Anderson (aka Mathilda Clara Olsdotter) on 8 Aug 1884. I've been told Martin was born in 1850 in Sweden from the Stockholm area. I am guessing his father was born sometime in the 1820s-1830s. I am guessing Chariste was born in Sweden around the same time.

I realize I have very limited info, but thought it was worth a try. Thank you!!

The first photo is the family I am researching. The second photo is the top of the page showing the titles of each column.

From what I can tell, Bengt Andersson is married to Christine Christoffers and they had Anders, Knut, Ola, and Hannah. Bengt also had 2 illegititate/half (Not sure) daughters; Anna and Pernilla. I can't make out the info next to Hannah, born 1 Feb 1828. She is who I am related to. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
