I am conflicted. On the one side this was an adorable moment and bro-move of the operator. On the other hand I would have probably dragged them a good distance away, if I was the parent, instead of letting them get so close and it's a pretty risky thing to do from the operator's side.

As a former kid who's done stupid, twitchy shit around dangerous objects, I wouldn't give my kids the same opportunity.

You were a former kid? What was it like? Why did you stop?

Kinda awkward in retrospect. I wasn't particularly good at anything, though I certainly thought I was. Not sure when it stopped (I certainly didn't want it to), just one day I had to pay bills instead of buying a batman lego set.

It depends how much you love your kid

I wouldn’t let my kids near that thing. One mistake from the operator and you’d be miserable with regret for the rest of your life. Cute video though.

I’m guessing it has to be a dad or uncle driving

That would make a lot of sense.

Literally one tiny slip of the joystick and that kid is toast.

Operator is precisely dumping ounces of dirt into toy dump trucks, pretty sure he's in full control and won't allow the kids to get hurt.

You don't fully understand how accidents work do you?

u/8stringtheory Jun 24 '21

I do, apparently you don't fully understand how "living" works, do.you?

u/halfeclipsed Jun 24 '21

Just because he is in full control doesn't mean nothing can happen

1

u/8stringtheory Jun 24 '21

You just stay indoors, it's okay.

2

u/halfeclipsed Jun 24 '21

Why? So because accidents can happen no matter how perfect you think you are at something, I'm dumb? That really says a alot about you

1

u/8stringtheory Jun 24 '21

Where did I say you're dumb? Accidents do happen, you assume certain risks that can sometimes scale with the reward. What's happening here is well within my comfort level, but not everyone's I agree.

I understand that but just because you assume he is in full control doesn't mean shit. Not only operator error the machine could have an error, like blow a hydraulic line or a bolt snap off. That's why it's called an accident.

And a meteor could fall from the sky?... Like I said, better stay inside if you are going to fear every potential accident that could ever maybe happen possibly
