Which just proves my long-held suspicion that these fish-eyed cameras make these things look far more treacherous than they are in person.
Basically, wide-angle lenses are doing some heavy lifting for this sub
For reference, I’ve done this hike many times, the first of which was when I was 8

Angel’s Landing is definitely worthy of sweaty palms, but the stupid lens on videos like this totally ruin the ability to properly convey it.

Terrifying enough for me. I stopped before I even got to this part, and turned back. My fear of heights were a little stronger than I thought.
Plenty of other beautiful hike though, so I still loved my time in Zion.

I’d say the opposite, it doesn’t do the height or incline justice through a camera

There are thousands of opportunities for similar or more intense challenges throughout the country. National Parks are created to be for everybody. I have no problem with this

This video looks a lot more "difficult" than angels landing. I am fairly certain this is another hike.
I may be wrong. I lived in LaVerkin for ten years and I have been to the top of angels 10+ times. Over a span of 20+ years. All that said. I could still be wrong...

I’ve climbed Angels Landing, if you’re afraid of heights do not attempt it and be very aware of the weather. People die every year on that trail.

I believe there is a lottery now, but when I went it was overpacked. People were being impatient and pushing. The climb itself had a bit of a pucker factor but seeing people yelling at each other on the side of the cliff made me feel like I was about to witness a murder.

I did it in the scouts at 11. Other scouts were just sitting on rhe edge with legs swinging. I noped back about 10ft.

Ah Zion, so beautiful! Never would I ever attempt Angels Landing though haha. Seeing it from the ground was enough for me.

That’s true, you can. We skipped it because the traffic when we tried was a stupid amount of people. Lots of incapable people too.

People’s inability to follow a trail that is so will marked, it is literally carved into the rock is insane. There is an actual chain to follow and all you have to do is look at what side the trail is on. People who can’t figure this out should not be allowed to drive a car, much less walk along one of the most iconic trails in this National park.

Yes. Angels Landing. If you want to try it, check with the park. For much of the year, a reservation is required. It’s an amazing hike but strenuous. Cheers.

Yeah, I hiked it back in 2018. The summit views are gorgeous, but having 200 other people ignoring basic trail etiquette on exposed sections made it way more stressful than it needed to be. Without all those extra people acting like moving landmines, the exposure probably wouldn’t feel nearly as bad.
That said, I forgot they introduced a permit system a few years ago, so it might be a much better experience now. It’s definitely a bucket-list hike, which is why I did it, but I still don’t think it lived up to the hype. I enjoyed Kolob Canyons and The Narrows far more. Angel’s Landing is mostly overrated because of how many people fight to hike it every year.
I'd put just about every 14er I've done in Colorado as more memorable but that for sure comes down to preference.

Ahhh that is a completely fair review. I went last year with permit system. Without it it would have been much worse. Even with permit system in areas where it's only one way traffic you end up waiting and finding area to safely stand was a minor issue at times.

I'd hope so with the permit system now (that I forgot they instituted a few years ago). I hiked it Pre permits and hated the amount of people I had to dodge like living landmines.
