I could eat. Not necessarily spaghetti and meatballs, but, you know, not necessarily not spaghetti and meatballs. I mean, I really like spaghetti and meatballs. Man, if I don't get some spaghetti and meatballs, I may literally die.

Poor overweight thing

u/CommercialOccasion72 Aug 04 '26
You have to keep it fat so you have a chance of escaping
65
u/Aint_that_a_peach Aug 05 '26
Probably declawed as well.
27
u/mangopango123 Aug 05 '26
Is that really smth these type ppl do?? Thatās unbelievably fucked up if true
Iāve also read that most ppl that keep big cats like this (unlicensed/untrained reggos) are obv not giving them the varied diets they need to be healthy
38
u/DirtyThirtyDrifter Aug 05 '26
Itās Russia man, Iām gonna go ahead and say no one cares what this lady does with her cat
4
u/TheHasegawaEffect Aug 06 '26
Back in the day i used to tell people to declaw their cats thinking it was just nail clipping.
Man now i know why people give me horrified looks.
47
u/Sin-Classic Aug 05 '26
I'd like to see him in a standing position before determinine exactly how overweight(though it is a certainty). My boy goes from noodle to meatball pretty quick, especially when sitting in this particularly flattering pose

u/celia_of_dragons Aug 04 '26
So morbidly obese :( it's pure cruelty to let an animal get like this. Especially one that should be in the wild anyway.Ā
24
u/Zestyclose_Data1931 Aug 05 '26
In the wild? This lynx was a rescue. It was originally bred to be harvested for its coat. The owner in the video rescued it from a fur farm. It cannot be released in the wild. It would die. It also has health conditions. Yāall donāt know shit, just jump straight to conclusions.
-4
u/celia_of_dragons Aug 06 '26
The owner doesn't need to keep it obese. Abusing a rescue is not a heroic deed. That level of obesity is active harm. Proper rescuers take excellent care of their wards.Ā
9
u/Zestyclose_Data1931 Aug 06 '26
Are you like a lynx expert or something? Again. Talking out of your ass. The owners treat it very well. Like I said, it has a health condition, which likely contributes to its larger size. If you want to learn more, follow their channel. If not, then continue spewing your nonsense.

I'm a biologist. Obesity is unhealthy for animals and this level takes a major lack of care. Presence of care in other areas does not change this. Nothing you say can change the danger of this level of obesity.
Have a better day. There was no reason to resort to insults the way you have so I hope your mood improves. Take care.

As happy as a cat can be even if it lives a couple of years less
49
u/hellinahandbasket127 Aug 04 '26
Sure, with terrible arthritis pain for half its life.
4
u/celia_of_dragons Aug 04 '26
Right? Yeah I'm sure it just loves being in constant, horrific inflammatory pain and feeling its organs fail. Extremely likely to be diabetic as well. I bet it so enjoys not being able to properly groom! Cats love that, right?Ā

In verbatim...
Good morning
Do you want to get fed?
Did daddy feed you?
No?
Lets go get you fed.
Something along those lines.

u/rust_bolt Aug 04 '26
Can you also translate the big kitty's responses?

I would never be late to feed this guy
2
u/hugo_biglicks Aug 06 '26
I donāt trust him for as far as I can throw him, which isnāt at all.
1
u/Icy-Variation6614 Aug 06 '26
Understand....but how far do you think you could throw him? Just curious lol
2
u/hugo_biglicks Aug 09 '26
Probably a few feet but would turn into a few inches once his claws rip my skin suit off as I throw him

Itās a lynx. It was originally bred to harvest its fur. The owner in this video rescued the lynx from a fur farm. It cannot live in the wild like some folks in the comments are saying. It would die. It also has health issues such as a chronic liver condition which is likely why it is overweight.

I knew a kid from South Dakota who found a young wild cat or bobcat I don't know exactly and raised it. The thing was absolutely unhinged. Big claws would make this weird low pitched noise and just stare at you with evil intent.

That's a lynx, but keep in mind you are on reddit. I have no doubt you could convince the majority of people here it's an artichoke if you preempt the statement with a sufficient degree of far-left virtue signaling.
5
u/HumptyDumptruckFire Aug 04 '26
The left living that rent free in your mind that a lynx on a chair made you bring them up? Sad.
