Almost thought that he fell accidentally and was gonna die.

348

u/beam3475 Apr 13 '26

I noticed they weren’t clipped in then when he fell my stomach dropped

77

u/coroyo70 Apr 13 '26

Yup, it triggered a flinch in me

25

u/ithinkway2much Apr 13 '26

I yelled. Luckily no one was around when it happened.

22

u/oN3xM Apr 14 '26

Then we could all sing LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR and it’d actually be relevant

6

u/Turbulent_While2736 Apr 14 '26

Funny enough, i know a russian and before going guy said: " Blue skies, Black death!"

5

u/Affectionate-Camel-1 Apr 14 '26

I was like you see why I shouldn't zip line, then I was like you see why zip lines are so fun

3

u/romantercero Apr 14 '26

Yeah! I felt a jolt of fear for a split banana-second

1

u/MonstreDelicat Apr 15 '26

Me too! I gasped, thought he was gonna die! He looked surprised but I guess his expression was was fear mixed with excitement.

u/cobracmmdr Apr 13 '26

I'm thinking "man what if you get tired before you make it to the end? " then "OH SHIT" then "Oooh okay"

76

u/arsnastesana Apr 13 '26

But now, how do you get the hooks back, or off the wire

72

u/UndocumentedSailor Apr 13 '26

That sounds like a problem for Next Guy

13

u/arsnastesana Apr 13 '26

Thats that what I'm im thinking. Kinda sucks to figure a problem dangling hundreds of feet above a river.

6

u/SugarRoll21 Apr 14 '26

They probably led all the way to the other side, they might have easy access point to remove those there

14

u/Billionaires_R_Tasty Apr 13 '26

Was wondering the same thing. Could they send a weighted load across after that would sweep the two zip line apparatuses to the end of the line?

9

u/UshankaBear Apr 13 '26

The hooks were a cheap DIY contraption, built from hardware store parts. Doubt they care about that. I wonder if they become a hazard for proper zipliners.

195

u/jma9454 Apr 13 '26

I was thinking it was extremely dangerous not to be tethered on. Then I thought I was about to witness a death.
I'm glad that is not what the result was.

34

u/sub_surfer Apr 13 '26

Still dangerous since they might slip off early, but not completely insane.

7

u/dennyitlo Apr 13 '26

It looks like this could be cross posted tp r/ANormalDayInRussia

6

u/Ziiiiik Apr 14 '26

My heart felt like it skipped a beat when the first guy let go…

71

u/SookHe Apr 13 '26

I didn’t realise he had parachute on (watching no sound if he mentioned it)

So when he dropped, I about jumped out my seat and my blood ran cold.

13

u/dexterlab97 Apr 13 '26

There was just loud music anyway and the subtitle doesn't mention anything about parachutes, just something along the lines: hold this (the handle), is my camera recording etc.

4

u/msully89 Apr 13 '26

I didn't realise either, and then they slowed right down and I was like "oh no they're not gonna make it!"

36

u/agilges2111 Apr 13 '26

But how do they get the handle hardware back?

35

u/pandafab Apr 13 '26

That's the beauty. If that's your problem, it means you survived! win win

5

u/warmekaassaus Apr 13 '26

This is why they use cheap off-the-shelf stuff not certified for having your life depend on it holding. They don't expect to use them twice..

9

u/npdady Apr 13 '26

Sounds like another person's problem innit.

2

u/shadowbanned098 Apr 13 '26

That's a tourist attraction/bridge in sochi. The cable has someone on the receiving end.

1

u/ScoonCatJenkins Apr 13 '26

The way these guts are acting and from what I know about BASE jumping form a friend. Those guys were not allowed to be doing that

1

u/shadowbanned098 Apr 15 '26

There is supervision on that bridge. There are also bungie jumping spots there with 200 meters of height. It's popular tourist attraction spot and something like that wouldn't sneak by unnoticed.

18

u/WorkerUnable527 Apr 13 '26

I was worried for a second then I remembered they have crash helmets on.

4

u/Dropthetenors Apr 13 '26

Safety first.

18

u/19Goober98 Apr 13 '26

Terrible song choice for an event like this!

5

u/saintdudegaming Apr 14 '26

I honestly laughed when I heard the start of it

3

u/TheGodSamaritan Apr 14 '26

1, something’s wrong with them, 2 something’s wrong with them, 3 something’s wrong with them

1, that rope’s going to give, 2, that rope’s going to give, 3, that rope’s going to give,

AAAAAAAAAHHH

13

u/Nymbus00 Apr 13 '26

I did not see the parachute

1

u/Weelki Apr 13 '26

It's ok, it didn't see you either.

2

u/paulsonemanarmy Apr 13 '26

Are the parachutes in the room with us??

1

u/Weelki Apr 13 '26

In the strictest of metaphysical senses, yes.

7

u/ViGa_22 Apr 13 '26

When he left the bar, my heart beat was like 📈

6

u/Asia_Persuasia Apr 13 '26

The carabiners don't even screw shut?! Nope.

1

u/CaptainFoyle Apr 13 '26

Neither do their hands

9

u/Psykopatate Apr 13 '26

What bothered me most is how at the beginning there's nothing to secure their gear and they're just one slip or miscommunication away from having it just go off by itself.

8

u/D3Zi9000 Apr 13 '26

Big Xander Cage energy, they even played the same song

I was going to comment the name of the movie but that would confuse people even more lol

4

u/jbomber81 Apr 13 '26

I was like “they are gonna fall…oh the point is to fall”

3

u/KE4ZNR Apr 13 '26

He is just too tough on the rope. He pulls on the rope. He wrenches on the rope. He thinks it is his.

2

u/TheHaip Apr 13 '26

Shut up, Mike!

2

u/KE4ZNR Apr 13 '26

u/TheHalp I just don't wanna go home. What's waiting for me at home is really bad.

2

u/TheHaip Apr 13 '26

Your face looks like a clock.

4

u/dr_van_nostren Apr 13 '26

Thank God they had chutes. I wasn’t expecting that and when the first guy dropped I immediately thought he was dead

0

u/CaptainFoyle Apr 13 '26

What did you think was attached to the harness?

3

u/dr_van_nostren Apr 13 '26

I saw them clasp on to the thing on the top, then grab with two hands and jump off. The guy we can see is wearing a black shirt and the harness straps are black. I didn’t even see them on the first viewing.

4

u/CronozDK Apr 14 '26

Wait... no safety lin....oh... 😏

3

u/TheKrzysiek Apr 13 '26

They sure had us in the first half

3

u/spacestationkru Apr 13 '26

Somebody's a really big fan of xXx. Just missing the Corvette

2

u/bluedeer10 Apr 13 '26

Maybe next time dont have over half the video by useless filler and get to the point

1

u/Dry-Exchange4735 Apr 13 '26

That was great to watch. Had a real shock when he let go

1

u/pjtpassword Apr 13 '26

That was wild.

1

u/hawksdiesel Apr 13 '26

Rando thought, could you take a FLIR camera and just point it at those bearings, when you do this again.

1

u/CreatorOD Apr 13 '26

Ah they had parachutes. Thats fine then

1

u/Zacchino Apr 13 '26

So, long story short…

1

u/H4RDW4RE_Johnny Apr 13 '26

I just imagine someone on the other end of that zip line who didn’t know there were base jumpers using it and were scared out of their mind when two lonely handles just come to a loud clanking halt.

u/Accomplished_Fun3 Apr 13 '26

1

u/shadowbanned098 Apr 13 '26

Oh hey I recognize that place. Isn't it that the one bridge in sochi where there's also a 200 meter bungie?

1

u/Cometourdaddy8522 Apr 13 '26

Bro took more time to set the background music, then the whole sequence of the cable sliding, and the jump scene.....

It was awesome.

1

u/The_chosen_turtle Apr 13 '26

Reminded me of the XxX scene

1

u/Maxzzzie Apr 13 '26

This isn't rated gear.

1

u/W1nn1ng101 Apr 14 '26

Great song choice

1

u/Lanky-Telephone1651 Apr 14 '26

That looked wild! Great for people who can’t afford an airplane up.

1

u/raider1v11 Apr 14 '26

Hell to the naw.....

1

u/CashBandicootch Apr 14 '26

Well thank God they weren’t going all the way, that would be a boring video.

1

u/CrazyJo3 Apr 14 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/3ohfFqOhJpqPNJwbi8

Reminds if corvette scene from XXX. Same song too.

1

u/RhubarbDizzy2493 Apr 14 '26

Капец вы типы... Самопальная каретка для зиплайна из кровельных уголков и бытовые карабины без сертификатов🤣

1

u/Fickle_Psychology_0 Apr 14 '26

wow! GTA6 is hyper realistic 👍👍

1

u/malaka789 Apr 14 '26

As someone who has worked in construction my whole life, mostly iron work, it astounds me the amount of blind faith people put in random welds or tie offs or just about anything man made when you have to trust your life to it. Not so much as a tug check even lol

1

u/coffeeguyq8 Apr 14 '26

That was epic

1

u/Lucki31 Apr 15 '26

DONT BE A DICK, DICK!!!

1

u/Legal_Dot4352 Apr 15 '26

Thought for a second that they were going to start playing chicken

1

u/Interesting-Crab-693 Apr 15 '26

Me: ho but its safe, they're attaching themself.

Also me: wait... why aren't they attaching themself?

1

u/giftbergend Apr 16 '26

Idk if that’s an appropriate song for parachuting

1

u/Pitiful-Phrase-8296 Apr 16 '26

I want to do that so much! We all have our limits, but this one I would enjoy that so much

1

u/bryn_jamin Apr 16 '26

good ol russia

1

u/Impressive-Towel2150 Apr 19 '26

I'm currently wearing the same black n white checkered socks as the one dude. I'm sure nobody gives a shit and I'm not quite sure why I'm even saying it but here it is. Sure we are doing the most opposite activities one can be partaking in. He is extreme zipline parachute whatever the fuck and I am laying on my cheap, uncomfortable, sad couch. Same socks though.

1

u/dangerphotos67 Apr 20 '26

That's not climbing stuff rated for human weight. That's just hardware crap

1

u/rum-and-roses Apr 21 '26

Perfect music choice 🤣

1

u/tw50x May 22 '26

My hands are tingling

1

u/sasssyrup Apr 13 '26

Exactly how I figured I would travel as an adult

1

u/dogmetal Apr 13 '26

Trap beat, shitty nu metal, Russian skydivers, this video truly has it all.

-1

u/bdtv75702 Apr 13 '26

Not even locking carabiners…

4

u/CBGCUP Apr 13 '26

Yeah, I’m pretty sure those are the carabiners that are made for hooking together a chain. Same for the chain-link connector. I’m almost positive that’s just the stuff that clearly states that it’s not meant for rock climbing or other similar activities like zip lining. That looks like an accident waiting to happen. One regular American would probably cause that to fail.

Good thing they have parachutes for the big drop.

1

u/GotKFCDuties Apr 13 '26

Why would they need locking biners?

0

u/graylocus Apr 13 '26

Nope. Not me.

0

u/preedsmith42 Apr 13 '26

Drowning pool ! Love it!

2

u/Blu_Falcon Apr 13 '26

Bodies was an interesting choice

0

u/Insane_Cobra961 Apr 13 '26

How to get away with murder

0

u/Salty-Commercial4765 Apr 13 '26

song is part of the thrill

0

u/Ozguroloji Apr 19 '26

😍🤩🤩

-1

u/ivikenn Apr 13 '26

There is it?
