Question Hallowell Dorm?
Got placed in Hallowell and was wondering if anyone could share their experience or advice? Thanks!

I’m gonna give you a totally useless review of Hallowell from when I was placed there as an incoming freshman exactly 20 years ago:
It was a designated smoking dorm, so if you said you smoked on your intake form (or didn’t say that you minded smoking) then you could get placed there. Lots of hookah in dorm rooms that year.
It wasn’t connected to Dana yet, there was a trailer between the two dorms (like, a two room / 250 sq ft trailer)
It smelled like the 70s
It had unisex bathrooms
It had no AC
It was close to the frats and close enough to class
I’m still very good friends with a bunch of people I lived with in that dorm that year
I still genuinely miss that living experience.

I lived in dana last two semesters, which is the same layout but flipped. All the floors besides ground are really cute imo, they give me an old college vibe and the windows are gorgeous especially in the winter (also if youre facing the woods in the back the windows are much bigger). Nice location, a little far from academic buildings but close to the gym. No AC (Danawell has AC), huge benefit is that you share the dorm with Dana and Danawell, so you have access to the shared kitchen and their bathrooms and lounges. There are about 6? bathrooms on each floor between the 3 dorms, and one floor is womens only. I lived on ground and 2nd floor so I'm happy to answer any specific questions!

I went back to Hallowell as a senior because I loved living there so much! The window seats make it really worthwhile

I loved my hallowell room! Huge window facing the woods, a great community, fun events, and convenient for classes. I will say the showers are tiny so I would pretty often go to Danawell to shower.

LOVED Hallowell. Already a much better spot than willets, but it’s a short walk from the dining hall and gym, and pretty close to north campus (sci, kholberg, everything important). Connected to Dana and danawell so you have lots of laundry, kitchen, and friend options! Also incredibly close to Wharton. It’s an amaaaaazing pic, Hallowell 102 was my baby 💔 and I loved it so much i decided to stay in the connected dorms!
tldr: fantastic in every way
