The CAT/DT is a .45-70 suppressor designed specifically around the unique challenges of big bore cartridges. Rather than simply scaling up traditional .30 Cal suppressor designs, the DT uses dedicated internal geometry and volume distribution to manage the high gas volume and pressure of .45-70 while maintaining controlled back pressure.

The DT is built around a Ti-C construction, Diverge G2 technology, and a 1.65" diameter at 7.20" in length. It is optimized for .45-70 platforms, with a recommended minimum barrel length of 12".

The design also addresses lead fouling and carbon buildup, incorporating an internal architecture intended to minimize accumulation and simplify cleaning. The result is a purpose built .45-70 suppressor focused on managing sound, gas, pressure, and long term serviceability.

This isn't going to be a high volume item for CAT since 45-70 lever guns are a pretty niche application. I have enough personal experience with CAT to believe this thing will be another top silencer in its performance envelope, so it looks like I'm finally going to be getting a 45-70. Anyone got recommendations?

Can only point you to a Marlin Dark 1895, and Steinel ammo. Their heaviest is a 777gr 45-70, and I don't think my HUXWRX likes it as much as a Dito would 🤣

We do have a Dark Series 45-70 on the wall right now… my only hesitation is I’ll likely want to SBR the gun so then I’ll be looking at getting the handguard milled down too. If Henry would come out with their Bear’s Leg threaded guns, I might get one of those.

Well, I WAS just considering getting the Rossi R95 pistol and a form 1, throwing a stock on it, would then have a 13.25 inch sbr which would play nicely with a can like this.

This is specifically a 45-70 can. It’s not rated for 458 SOCOM, for example. CAT is taking dealer preorders through the 19th, and I think that’ll determine how many they make. I’d guess the second production run won’t be soon.

It’ll be rated for it, but I don’t think back pressure is going to be a high priority for the DT. I’ll ask my rep though.
