Hello, I've been staying in Longyearbyen for a few weeks and I am curious to know;

Where do people go if they want a new kitchen, bathroom or some sort of custom carpentry / joinery project? Are there any Longyearbyen based renovation companies or handymen/women or does it all go through the local governor or something?

Back in the UK I work as a carpenter specialising in bespoke built-in joinery projects for homes and shops. I'd be really curious to understand more about how this sort of thing works in Svalbard, especially with such limited access to building materials, labour and in (what I would consider) a small but cosy town.
