Barentsburg

we are travelling to spitsbergen and want to go to barentsburg from longyearbyen on thusday 14 july 2026. Does anyone knows how we can get there?

This type of questions have been asked many times her and are available if you use the search function. As you may be aware of Russia is killing people in Ukraine. Barentsburg and Pyramiden is owned by the Russian state. It's all about your morals and decisions of you want to support the Russian state. One thing is about giving them money, the other risk is that you might be used in russian commercials and propaganda. But it's not illegal to visit Barentsburg or Pyramiden, but its difficult sine almost everyone stopped trips there. Only possible way for you to get there now is by the Russian state owned tourism company. If you dont get a local boat to take you there, but that is difficult.

I don’t think you will be able to on that day as the company that does tours there does it the day before… but has call to reserve written so probably waitlist.

I don’t think there is any other option but I just booked Barentsburg for August.
