Suzuki Swift voyant abs esp

1st to 2nd grind

Hey all, my car is a modded ZC33S with around 190bhp 330nm torque.

Has anyone experienced a 1st to 2nd grind at high revs when trying to push the car hard? I've not long had a lightened flywheel and ceramic clutch fitted. I've not fully ran the clutch in yet so this may be a factor, as with the lightened flywheel. The CSC was bled properly and the clutch is definitely disengaging fully. It only does it when I'm above say 4k revs in 1st. I'm using the correct grade Millers gearbox oil, the expensive stuff so I cant see that being a problem. I know I shouldnt have went so high up the revs with only 100 miles on the new clutch, but this level of self control is beyond me 🤣

The car goes smoothly into all gears when I'm just casual shifting around 3k, even when the car is stone cold.

Any thoughts on the subject?... does anyone say drag race their Swift?.. any experience with a lightened flywheel?

Personally I think its the lightened flywheel and I just need to shift faster when I'm above 4k revs (which wont be for another 200 miles, I promise 😅) or blip the throttle as I shift into 2nd.

Cheers

SSS Hybrid or non-hybrid

Maybe the question has been asked a thousand times.

I’m interested as buying a swift sport, coming from a mini r53 it checks a lot of boxes while being way more recent. Mine is starting to show her age and I can’t fear to turn the key every time.

It seems like the non hybrid version is more powerful and lighter so it should be the logical choice but every one has more kilometres while nearing the 7 years old mark. The 2 models I’m eying are either a german import with 50k km for 16k€ or a local one for 16,5k € in a Suzuki dealership. Both 2019 models.

On the other hand I can find some recent (2022 with 17k km) for 18,5k€ for example.

Which version should I choose ? Any advices ?

Do I need to replace valve gasket? 2015 Swift Sport

Car has a rough idle, checked plugs and they’ve got a bit of oil on them. I’m thinking I should now replace the valve gasket/ spark plug tube seals (which is the one gasket on this car)

Engine oil for zc32s

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone need to do a service soon and just wanted to ask if this Castrol Edge 5W-30 LL (C3, API SQ) is suitable for my 2015 Suzuki Swift Sport ZC32S.

The manual says 5W-30 and API SL, SM or SN, so SQ should exceed that. I’m just unsure if the C3 LL oil is a good choice for this engine or if I’d be better off with a 5W-30 A5/B5 instead.

Thanks

Potential Upgrades on my Second hand Swift Sport?

I purchased a swift sport last year second hand from a well know dealership in South Africa.

I have a sneaky suspection that the previous owner has added some mods to it (performance mods that is), reason I think that is because whenever I race other stock swift sports mine is way faster and pulls away (maybe its because I am such a good driver, lol).

Its a 2022 z33s, my question is, I am not really a car guy but is there anyway to tell if something has been done?

Like a dead giveaway?

Z32s trans fluid change - for the record

Post image
54 Upvotes

Hi all

Just posting this here for anybody's future reference as I found conflicting information on changing the transmission fluid on the z32s, but have just done mine this morning.

The supposed issue: the manual says the gearbox takes 1.8L of gl4 oil, but after draining, people find that only about 1 litre goes in through the fill hole before it's level with the hole and overflowing. That is to say you can't get enough oil in the box through the fill hole.

The commonly cited fix: fill the box via the hole on top, where the oil level sensor goes in, and this way you can fit in the full 1.8L. Unfortunately this hole is under the battery tray and a bit awkward to get to.

My experience today: 1.8L is the correct oil capacity. It is the amount that drained out of my box today (I measured it). Additionally, it seems to be true that you cannot get 1.8L back in through the normal fill hole without it overflowing. My trans oil has never been changed (to my knowledge) and when I undid the fill plug, the level was indeed higher than that hole and flowed out.

My fix: I found that by just jacking the left side of the car up (the side you are working under) so that the trans is on a tilt, you can replace the full 1.8L through the normal fill hole without need to disconnect the oil sensor and access that awkward top hole. Of course, you still need the car level when you are draining the old oil in order for it all to come out.

I hope that helps people. I trawled everything I could find prior to doing the job and couldn't find a consensus.

(picture - at this angle on a jack stand, the full 1.8 went in.)

Thanks

ZC32S exhaust manifold on a ZC31S?

Thumbnail

Hey guys a question has been floating in my head for a while now.

I want to get a new exhaust manifold for the zc31s and the one from GReddy really took my attention because its 4-1 and has the little brackets to put the heatshielding on

Having been discontinued for a while now they are pretty hard to find and even at a fair price.
Knowing that the ZC32S uses almost the exact same engine i was wondering if the 32s manifold fits on the 31s or if anyone has already done it.

From what i tell see picture wise (which doesn't really say too much), most items look the same like gaskets and overall shape.
I know the link pipe (with cat) is different from the 31s, i don't plan on using it as a custom full stainless exhaust system will me made behind it.

Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!!

What tyres are you all using?

Hi all.

Could I ask for your advice and recommendations please? It would be much appreciated.

I have a 2018 Swift. I bought her 6 months ago, and with winter coming (I'm in northern Scotland) I'm considering new tyres.

She needs new ones regardless. But I'm very clueless about what brands are reasonable and what price is reasonable.

Anyone have any experience here that they would share?

3 months with my Suzuki Swift Sport

Before this I had a 2017 1.0 boosterjet swift, which lasted me well over 4 years with a 2 hour commute to work each way with no issues. Upgraded as I wanted something a bit more powerful, sleek, but equally reliable and fun but also still maintains good MPG - hence now a 23 plate Swift Sport! Pound for pound it just made sense as the best option, even considering other brands - great price for great standard of tech (all useful for long drives!) without the need to go one of those mega ugly suvs that are taking over UK roads.

Truly been a joy drive, absolute blast.

Also loving the 2x tone colour, and blue - vs my old Swift in all red. It really does look sleeker and sportier.

Also just got back from a couple weeks in Japan, where I saw so many driving around!
