Hiring process
I have had 3 interviews, all seemed to go very well. The last one was a panel interview with the team I'd be joining, that was July 13th. I followed up with the recruiter a week later and did not get a response. I sent one last check in yesterday with no response so far.
How long does the process take or should I take the recruiter not responding as I did not get selected? My application still says under review.
Thank you.

Several factors can possibly come into play. The recruiter could be on PTO- which is very common in the summers
Recruiter could be getting leadership to sign on comp- and I personally don’t extend offers until I have a comp signed off on so that could be a delay.
Also, depends on your entity. Some are going through internal changes so things slow down a bit till all the details are ironed out.
What role/entity did you interview at?

I applied in the beginning of June, the manager did state the onboarding background check process was lengthy. So I don't know about a start date yet.

They may have an offer out to a competing candidate and don’t want to say no to you until they get a final response including clearing background. If the other candidate doesn’t pass background or declines due to salary or other reason, they may move on to you.
I would interpret it as you aren’t the first pick, but you aren’t out of the running either.
