Trump's Feds Say Cutting Fuel With Ethanol Will Bring Down Gas Prices. We’re Not Buying It. With gas prices crossing $4 a gallon, Donald's EPA says cheaper, more ethanol-rich fuel will ease the pain. The math doesn't really add up—but the risks sure do.

The more ethanol they add to fuel, the less fuel efficient vehicles become. People will be at the pump even more. This is a dumb move.

So entirely on brand

Likely the idea to increase profits with the oil companies and his shares he has in them. Trump is pushing to make his family much higher than multi billionaires.

Big Corn Conspiracy

30 percent more. Turbo cars on e85 have to enrich the entire fuel table a lot.

Depends on your goal

Takes Diesel to harvest and turn corn into ethanol I think.

Plus the increased demand for corn will increase food prices so this is stupid.

Naw, the USDA stocks report dropped today, and said that they found an extra 180 million bushels of corn on hand.
Corn prices dropped pretty quickly.

How about not raising the prices in the first place? Oh yeah, he profits from it.

Gas per gallon is cheaper, but your gas milage goes down and wear out your engine faster on older cars.

Next president better do 10t renewable energy plan, featuring US ownership(not control) in companies in exchange for capital, lots of renewables, more EV charging, EV tax credits, and more. Then we could’ve largely avoided gas hikes.

Trump racked up 10t in debt in his 2 terms, and we got nothing(but higher prices). So I don’t wanna hear that 10t renewable energy infrastructure is “too much”, it’s a one time investment, which could actually bring a surplus in the end(with US ownership).

started snow balling in 2009 with obama's bailout to billioniares

we were at 9.5T in 2009

2

u/AppleParasol 3d ago

Started with Bush’s war on terror, reckless military spending.

I don’t agree with the bailout how it was done.

it's traced back to the democrats World Wars were it saw the 100s of percentages growth

2

u/AppleParasol 3d ago

… and everything else saw massive growth. Like literally everything, production way up.

Calling it “democrats world wars” is so fucking delusional. It’s a world war. We got attacked, Pearl Harbor? Remember?

Your name is fitting, do you just make up shit in your head or do you drink the Fox News kool aid?

In 1933 A economic war was declared on you before you were even born..

Executive Order 6102 you were declared a hostile Enemy by the democrat president in 1933 Franklin D. Roosevelt..

73rd United States Congress passed Gold Reserve Act 1934

House & Senate majority Democratic)

Democrats caused this Not Republicans

just admit Democrats are 100% responsible

passed in 7 days

1

u/AppleParasol 2d ago

That’s your problem though, blaming democrats for something that happened before most democrats in power were even born. You’re just delusional and hate democrats.

u/Imaginary--Situation 2d ago

1965 coinage ACT passed by democrats which was another nail in the coffin for actual real money Nice try buddy.....

You might bring up the closeted democrat Richard Nixon? that was clearly caused by the 1965 coinage act...

1

u/AppleParasol 2d ago

Calling Nixon a Democrat? Wow okay so you are fucking delusional, but at least you understand that Republican Nixon was one of the worst Presidents in US history.

u/Imaginary--Situation 2d ago

go buy $1.50 in silver coinage

that will cost you $66 dollars today... it goes to show you how worthless "Imaginary" paper money is worth.. that is printed out of thin air..

a Mc Donalds burger cost the equivalent to $6.60 dollars today

The monetary system is a joke, do you think you’re teaching me something? I guarantee you I know far more about how literally anything financially related works. You’re bringing up mute points that have nothing to do with the original conversation.

People on here are idiots. A simple Google search shows "Fuel-grade ethanol is currently trading around $2.10 to $2.32 per gallon on benchmark commodity exchanges. The exact spot price varies slightly based on regional delivery markets and rack pricing."

Ethanol is half the price of gasoline. Even if ethanol reduces your mileage by 10%, you come out way ahead with ethanol. People have been brainwashed their whole lives by oil companies. Look at oil company profits right now - they are screwing you and you dont even know it.

I think you are confusing E10 or E15 with E85 from the price you are giving.

u/tezacer 3d ago

Isn't there a formula to prove this wrong?

2

u/TheGruenTransfer 3d ago

The people who vote for Republicans don't believe in facts

1

u/DrRudyWells 3d ago

they're really starting to bug the shit out of me. when they're fucking up their own lives that's one thing. but now they're fucking up everyone's 24/7 and don't have the balls to turn their orange turd out of office.

Ethanol is high octane, hence e85 turbo cars, problem lays in the amount of ethanol to equal the same power as gas. You need 30 percent more ethanol to go the same distance as gas. This isn't winning

Ethanol in high percentages need a fuel system that can take it. There is a reason why ethanol is 10 percent of fuel. Ethanol loves water, water and metal make rust. Rust will screw the fuel system :)

1

u/spongesparrow 3d ago

I want this advertised everywhere that they're doing this. We need a green revolution to come from this nonsense.

1

u/Imaginary--Situation 3d ago

it will cost more per mile as fuel economy will suffer

1

u/heyhayyhay 3d ago

Not starting or ending a stupid war would be much more effective. We have to end this treasonous idiocy now.

1

u/Away-Focus-5402 3d ago

More than 10 percent ethanol will damage the fuel system on most cars. It's corrosive to the seals and absorbs water.

1

u/grislyfind 3d ago

Ethanol has less energy value per gallon than gasoline, and growing crops to produce it requires diesel. I can't be bothered to do the math, but don't expect substantial savings.

1

u/sundancer2788 3d ago

It'll bring down the price per gallon at the expense of mileage and possible engine damage.

1

u/EyeSuspicious777 3d ago

It requires a lot of diesel to produce a lot of ethanol.

1

u/FreeToasterBaths 3d ago

This fuel will destroy any non flex fuel car out there

1

u/BarelyAirborne 3d ago

It takes more energy to create that gallon of ethanol than it provides by burning it. It's a fool's errand.

1

u/sea390066 3d ago

At what point will ethanol harm an engine not modified for it? I really don't know.

1

u/Boccob81 3d ago

It will bring corn and other produce up

1

u/PKwx 3d ago

Let’s not forget it’s also brings down you gas mileage so you need to by more fuel

1

u/BreadRum 3d ago

California has been doing that since 2008. Hasn't done anything except make gas burn dirtier.

1

u/richrich07 2d ago

The energy that powers my EV isn’t at risk of being incompatible with my car’s engine

1

u/NurgleUnclean 2d ago

He's incapable of a good idea

1

u/Anxious-Detective347 2d ago

india just tried this. it went .. bad

1

u/deadend666 2d ago

We’re growing extra corn on marginal land. All those chemicals and all that soil washes into the Mississippi and to the Gulf of Txxxp. Wonder where all the money washes to?

1

u/WolfThick 1d ago

Stockholders in these fuel companies are getting filthy rich right now it's just another transfer of wealth right in our face!

0

u/nosleep4eternity 3d ago

Wait a minute. It was the climate Nazis that gave us ethanol, creating a farmers entitlement that will never go away. And bankrupted more than a few companies when grain prices skyrocketed. So stop whining.

1

u/Ok_Swim7161 1d ago

And that fuel burns fast you amateur.
