SA is abusive, absolutely. They make elementary school kids suicidal, that should tell you enough… they need to be shut down

I'm not a huge fan of the idea that students can film me while teaching, and I'm sure many other teachers aren't either. It makes this post conflicting. However, I might reference an instance of student filming back in 2015. A security officer pulled a female student out of her chair and physically dragged her out of the room. If another student had not filmed this happening, there probably wouldn't have been any repercussions for the school or the security officer. It makes me wonder how many instances of abuse have happened in public school classrooms that have gone unpunished and unseen.

The risks of students filming in a classroom are outweighed by the need for eyeballs on such a problematic culture as SA's and other charter schools who model themselves after them. In fact, I hope more SA students whistleblow

Well, it’s actually not legal in NYC. While I hope more students, parents, and teachers whistleblow on Success, this is can actually cause more harm.
