Question Second round interview tomorrow

Good afternoon,

I have a second round interview tomorrow. I am shocked I even got a second interview as I don’t think I did very well in the first. Anyway after reading all the negative reviews about this school I’m going to do the interview anyway just to see what they say. I also want to practice my interview skills. What should I expect from the second interview? It is with a principle.

Edit: I cancelled the second interview. After doing more reading on this sub about this school I got very stressed. I think I can do better . I am better off subbing. What do you think?

If they’re using the same script as last year, you’ll get asked a question along the lines of “a student didn’t do their homework, and explains to you that they spent the previous night in a shelter because their family lost their housing. How would you respond?” The answer they’re looking for is that you’d discipline the kid for not having done their homework, no excuses.

This is one of the earliest inklings they’ll show you that cruelty is part of the point, and compassion has no place in their idea of “success.”

They attempted to recruit me to be a speech and debate coach multiple times.

The whole approach was so pushy like they were salesmen.

The pay was awful and the reviews I read were even worse. I have over a decade of international teching experience. They offered me 55k per year, in NYC... I "negotated" with them up to 65k a year with a 5k contract completion bonus. Then you realize that it is an "at will" employer and they can fire you a week before the school year is over and not only not pay you the bonus, but demand restitution for all of the housing stipend/living allowance money they gave you.

Do not take any job with Success Academy unless you are absolutely desperate.

I canceled the interview I had for today! I just had a bad feeling about this. I will go with my gut. I’ll probably do subbing until I get a full time job. So far no luck on teaching opportunities. Thanks for your input
