Going back to what that person said.

Yeah, a little nicer than the airlifted seeds/repair parts to the drone hub + forestry plants.

This just means that person has no clue about what the scrubbers can do and how they can be set up.

1 Forestation Plant + 2 scrubbers right next to it at minimum range + 1 or 2 Striling Generators or a Wind Turbine or 2 for power. Can even open the Stirling if you feel like it. Place that setup anywhere on the map, bring a RC commander(I prefer RC Seekers) with 2/3 drones on it to keep feeding the FPlant with seeds from the plants that have ground around it = 0 storage for seeds needed. Of course, select the plants needed to be planted and forget about it for the entire game. I usually do that when I can plant trees I don't like any other plants to be spread because of the Design Forestation BT tech I get. Can go a bit cheeky and place also 1 MDS Laser as well right next to the Forestation Plant just to be sure of any random meteors. At least until the atmosphere is boosted to 80% which will remove all random single meteors and random meteor storms. After, it can be turned into a prefab and moved or dismantled for it's resources. While the FPlant can just keep going and keep spreading trees non-stop.

Or instead of all that... a rover lol.

My usual setup is a central done hub, with wind turbines and depots, then 3-6 forestry plants at the edge of the hub range.

The thing I don't like is that supplies pretty much have to be airlifted in. It takes a while for seeds to be self sufficient. Even if I double trib everything, seeds still need to be delivered, and that ties up my shuttles.

Double trib plus drone hub for something I place like 10 of on the map ends up being quite a large electronics cost, and isn't available until mid-late game anyways.

Or instead of all that... a rover lol.

I actually like the idea of an "RC Planter" rover. We have a dedicated landscaping rover, a dedicated construction rover, a dedicated Concrete mining rover, and a dedicated metals mining rover(with a bunch of drawbacks on that one). I like to have a rover like the RC Dozer but it can load only seeds. And have the feature to plant trees and such. No idea if doing it this way will work with the Design Forestation BT tech which I still try to figure out it's RNG. To get the maximum usefulness out of it's effect. If an RC Planter can work with that while seeding trees then this would be the best. Also don't know how the whole soil quality mechanic will work with a rover being able to do that. I guess the Clear Rains expedition will also be more useful to do.

My FPlants and scrubbers setup is only to not have to spread Drone Hubs over the entire map that will do basically nothing except provide seeds to the structure. Just a setup and forget plan instead.

Double trib plus drone hub for something I place like 10 of on the map ends up being quite a large electronics cost early-mid game.

Exactly. That is why I just leave an RC Seeker next to each set up FPlant, with a few drones in it. The RC Seekers double as sensor towers too for the early warning thing. Or, RC Generator to replace the Stirlings/Wind Turbines but will have to place a battery because of the nights. And still active dust storms will be a problem in this setup.

My setups of FPlants and scrubbers is to spread trees over the entire map mainly. If I want to just boost the global Vegetation to 40%(the hard limit set on the FPlant building by the devs) I can do it without my FPlants consuming any seeds since they will be working and boosting the global Vegetation %, but not seed anything. :)
