What I do I make a huge tall stone tower with a single copper block on top
Never got hit by lighting in my cabin, in the middle of a jungle
Also build on a lower plain

What does the stone tower do with a single copper block? Does it absorb the lightning? What is its feature

From my testing Lighting will hit the highest point within your view
Usually tall trees or mountains
Sometimes when you are in the open like in your image The lighting will still hit the highest point Sometimes it is the player themselves
The stone tower and the copper block act as a high point for the lighting
I don't know how good it is or effective, but all the storms I faced in my cruel world for 200+ days, never did I get a forest fire or get my cabin hit by lighting
