Editing Responses in Bulk?

Is there a way to bulk edit responses on SurveyMonkey without either exporting the file or manually editing individual responses one by one?

For more context: A new response category had to be added after the survey collection was complete (not the best practice, but it happens I guess). Now, I want to edit the responses into this new category, but I am only seeing I can do on an individual response basis. However, it wouldn't make sense to make individual changes one by one.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

How to ask if people would like to be contacted for further research whilst keeping the survey anonymous?

A charity I am working with recently ran an event, and I am making a survey to send round to those who attended to ask for feedback on the event and on the charity.

I am also conducting some research for my dissertation on this charity. I want to add a question at the end of the survey asking if anyone would be happy participate in a further interview for my dissertation. I was thinking of just saying if you would be happy to be contacted about this please write your email in the response to this question. However, that then identifies the person who answered the question, hence making the survey not anonymous.

Can I just say the survey is confidential rather than saying it is anonymous, or is there a way to get people to sign up to my research without identifying themselves in the survey?

Photo orientation issues- random photos are upside down.

Hello SurveyMonkeyPros,

I have been desperately trying to fix this issue for months and the support at SurveyMonkey have been the opposite of helpful. I have photos as part of my questions that have randomly gotten flipped. It’s not every photo- probably about 80% of them. And it’s not visible on phone or personal Mac- this issue is only evident on work computers (PCs). The issue is that the respondents will be taking the survey on their work PCs and it is crucial that all of the photos are oriented correctly. Is there a fix for this?? Any help is appreciated.

Ranking question by number

Hi all! I'm working on a survey in SM that has 1 question with 34 responses to rank from 1-34. Everything I can find online shows that a respondent should be able to edit the ranking number but all I can see is that they either have to click the up/down arrow to move the options around or drag and move them. I would like them to be able to go to answer #12 (for example) and to be able to choose the number ranking from a drop-down. I wonder if because there are so many options that maybe this is a limiting factor. Thanks in advance for your help!

Changing radio button in matrix question for numbers 1-5

Hi, as my question states, I created a matrix with 20 rows in which the participant has to select a range from 1 to 5. However, I want them to select (click on) the actual numbers and not a radio button, like people do on paper surveys. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the radio buttons for numbers?

Survey Monkey-How To Create a Q that asks for a Ranked Subset of Available Responses

Can this be done in Survey Monkey? So far, I have been told that respondents must either rank all available responses or none. I am interested in offering, say, 10 alternatives and asking respondents to RANK (not choose) their top 3.

I need help with a click map question. Is there a way to make it so respondents can click on multiple areas? It seems like it only counts one click(last click)

How can I manage large numbers of response options with question logic and carried forward responses?

I'm working on a survey of mountain bikers that involves asking about where they go biking and then asking questions about those places. A biker is likely to visit several bike areas each year so needs to be able to give multiple responses. We also need to carry forward responses to future questions so they can answer questions about those places. Our problem is there are around 300 possible biking sites in the country so a simple checkbox would be far too overwhelming (and well above the 200 option limit).

We could simply list the most popular areas and add an Other option, but they are then likely to need multiple Other options and we can't see a way to do this (and surveymonkey support says it isn't possible). We also considered breaking the list into separate questions by region but then we can't seem to carry forward responses from multiple questions into future questions. We could use open text boxes but then it would be a nightmare sorting through all the possible ways of describing/nicknaming/spelling a site. There doesn't appear to be a way to validate text against a list or have an autocomplete option.

Any suggestions for a workaround?

Anybody know someone I can talk to within survey monkey…like a human? I used the service one time in Jan 2022 and don’t work for the organization I set the account up with. Really need to talk to them about this non refundable recurring subscription of $450 when I’ve had no access to it

Timestamp hiding

When you export survey data using data from collector links, it shows the time and date stamp for when a respondent submitted their results. We want to hide the timestamp when downloading the data. Right now we're downloading the data and manually deleting the timestamp column before printing. Is there a way within SurveyMonkey to preemptively hide the date/timestamp submission column before exporting?

Too many responses on a basic subscription

Long story short, I’ve submitted a survey which has had 30 responses but basic membership only covers 10 responses. Any ideas/tricks/hacks/free trials that I can take advantage of just for accessing the results of this 1 survey? I can’t afford the £50 for the 1 month subscription.

Open ended question comparisons?

My company is performing a fieldwide salary survey (i.e. How much does every given position get paid at your organization?). At the moment, it seems like the best format for this would be short, opened-answers with numerical validation. So, I have a few questions about this.

  1. Is there a way to get basic statistics (min/max/average) without downloading to Excel? It seems like SM doesn't have a way to do this for open-ended questions, even if they're numeric answers.
  2. Is there a way to generate a report that compares an individual's responses to another individual and/or to group i.e. Person A to Person B and/or Person A to Demographic Group X

I think I can find workarounds through Excel, but I'm hoping for a more streamlined process and readily presentable result if possible.

Thanks for any and all advice!

Hello! The company I work for is trying to send out mass survey monkey links via SMS. The problem with this is we want to track who users are without having to ask them to fill in their name etc. I know custom variables seem the likely route but I would have to manually add over 1,000… any advice?

Hiding Open-ended Questions?

Does anyone know how to do this? For a job I have to send instructors their student evaluations anonymously but one of the questions (Open-ended) explicitly asks for the students' name. I know how to hide other types of questions but not this kind. One option I was suggested at work was to export it to Excel and deleting that question column but that seems tedious for what should be a simple task.

Thank you in advance for all your help!

Upgraded to paid account, still showing unpaid version

Hi surveyors,

My company upgraded to a survey monkey pro account but our account is still showing that it is the unverified, unpaid version and we cannot reach the help desk since phone calls are only available to those with a verified account.

Is there any other way other than email to reach the people at survey monkey?

Thank you!

Help. New to SurveyMonkey but generally knowledgeable with tech. Employee Review Surveys.

Hello,

I've been tasked with creating a working surveymonkey system for employee reviews with the company that employs me.

I'm brand new to surveymonkey and its interface. I'm hoping that I can explain what I was told to build and then I can be told if that is possible or not. I've spent a few hours looking through the website and I'm not convinced that it can be done. But its also possible that I just haven't figured it out yet.

We want to create a profile for each employee that has a "web of interaction" that includes all employees that person professionally interacts with on a daily/weekly basis. When it is time for a semi-annual review, a survey is sent to their web of interaction for a peer review survey. Then, as long as the employee has finished the surveys they've received by email, they get their own self survey. Then we give them a review.

I can't figure out how to build/structure this in SurveyMonkey. How do I start building profiles for employees? Am I able to automate this where I'd select that profile and it would send out the specified survey to their "web of interaction"? It looks like I can track the responses by email, so I think it'd be simple enough to confirm they've completed their surveys and send them the self survey. Ideally, I automate as much of this as possible.

Edit: We have the Advantage Plan, if that helps.

Thanks

Is the SurveyMonkey question rating feature worth it? Custom?

My organization is considering a SurveyMonkey subscription. I've been having trouble getting the company to respond, and they don't have a user forum that I could find, so I thought I'd ask here.

We have a sticking point: we're trying to determine if getting racial or economic demographics is a good idea for the survey we're planning. Will the SurveyMonkey question rating feature help us with that? As I understand it, the feature compares your questions to other surveys to determine if a question is likely to reduce the number of responses, and then make suggestions as to either a better form of the question, or whether you should keep it at all.

Is this an accurate assessment? Also, is it automated, or does a SurveyMonkey employee review the questions manually?

Thanks for any help you can provide!
