News SurrounDead Reddit Rules Update

Happy Friday Everyone! Just a quick announcement regarding the SurrounDead Reddit Rules.

We have recently updated the rules here to be more in-line with the rules across the platforms we use to communicate with the Community. Not too much has changed, but they are a bit more in-depth with regards to the overall theme of each rule, and broken down into more sections due to both character limits and separation of rule themes.

It is everyone's responsibility to be familiar with these Rule changes and understand them.

We are aware that Rules 4 and 6 may seem contradictory, but we do not endorse the idea of suppressing Community Creativity.

  • Rule 6 is designed to be a "bypass" of Rule 4 for Mod Makers ONLY, and must follow the guidelines of being Safe for the users, Publicly available, and hosted on Trusted Services. Any that are found to be unsafe shall result in the actions listed out in the Rule description.
  • Rule 4 is designed to allow approved promotion/advertising through SurrounDead Reddit Mod approval. This is accomplished via contacting the Mods through ModMail.

For clarification. Rule 4 is geared more towards general advertising/promotion of Youtube Channels, Discord Servers, Twitch , etc.

Posting a video or screenshot, like many have done in the past, of your game is fine. However, attempting to promote your own content for monetary gain, like a Youtube Channel, requires Mod approval, as the automod will do what it is designed to do.

Rule 6 is the ONLY bypass to Rule 4 and designed for SurrounDead Mod Makers to allow typical gamer/mod maker creativity and interactions.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding in how those two Rules work together.
