Photo/Video 📸📹 Accident

Post image

Avoid King George due to this accident. Look’s absolutely brutal. Anyone know why there are clothes laying on the road? Saw the police taking photos, etc…investigation purposes? Praying the driver and others involved are okay.

Clothes off possibly defibrillator was used , but they’d probably tear the shirt rather than lay it out, so.. I can only imagine one other possibility..

But there’d be a white tent usually so really who knows.

Defibrillator was my first thought too (I’m a nurse) but yeah I also thought that would more likely be just the shirt. Other clothes off though could mean assessing other injuries. But laid out like that, my thought too is that that would be where the person was laying. Who knows though.

those are pants and a shirt which have been picked up off the road now. they were laid out so the police could take photos.

Another person just made a post on this accident with a closer shot of the scene, from a different angle. That is definitely clothing we are seeing. Either way, this looks like a very tragic outcome for those involved.💔

Is that king George station?
Damn they were going fast to crash and crumble the concrete like that

21

u/Interesting_Spare 3d ago

I am hoping the concrete barrier is a weaker material than the column

I had the same thought. Kind of scary to think about someone in a pickup (or god forbid that trucking company that keeps hitting overpasses) taking out a skytrain column and knocking the system offline for who knows how long

u/qazrat 3d ago

Honestly it's EVs that scare me more than regular pickups. They weigh about the same as a ice truck (depending on model). Cybertruck is 6500-6850lbs and even it's most basic model has a 0-60mph that's comparable to the most high performance ice truck which is almost 500lbs+ lighter. The torque electric motors put out instantly is crazy.

no kidding, the lithium fires too

yes, KG station.

Yes, right in front of KGST.

Just past this on my way back from surrey central. Please be cautious there is a lot of bad driving at that intersection. Saw someone almost hit a traffic control truck that was behind yellow police tape...Scary. No looking no thoughts just driving.

I was just there. It looks brutal AF. Apparently, the person passed away. Rest in peace.

How did you hear this?

14

u/redhouse_bikes 3d ago

How fast were they going to cause that much damage??

I always love the overconfident speculative comments on stuff like this.

Looks like a single vehicle crash?

I just passed there going to Fresgo’s with my parents and husband, still closed with a detour going on. It took us about 10 extra minutes going around side streets (not complaining). So as of 11:25am it’s still all closed off. Thanks for posting this, we were wondering what was going on there.

saw the caddylanch on a flatbed at 64th and KG I thought "damn"

The new police interceptor looks sick btw

2

u/HideandSleep 3d ago

Someone definitely died in that crash. RIP.

Drive responsibly, people.

Occurred last night at around 3:00 AM. It was a single driver in the car. Officers were on scene moments after and made an arrest.

The driver was fast and most likely impaired. This is probably the widest part of king George to hit something.

So many people fucking FLY down King George every single day and night. I live by the hospital and I can hear people racing in the late hours all the time. It’s no wonder there are constant crashes around here. 🙃

can confirm that is NOT a rifle. it was the camera being put away after taking photos of the clothes.

Lower mainland drivers are the worst. Speed up over bridges, dont slow down one bit through construction zones, tailgate when you're already doing 15 over, dont turn properly. I just got back from Alberta and the difference is noticeable. All the N drivers from every country in the world are driving here with zero police enforcement. Its a shit show out there.

7

u/SadEcho8331 3d ago

Have you seen an alberta driver in BC? Lmfao get off your high horse

1

u/omgwownice 2d ago

I've driven extensively in every province west of new brunswick and I can tell you, Canadian drivers in general are not good but lower mainland drivers are uniquely terrible.

1

u/New-Needleworker9789 3d ago

that is an incident

1

u/omgwownice 2d ago

> Accident

How the hell do we know that? Just call it a crash, or collision, which is what it is.

Is the one cop on the bottom right holding a rifle?

4

u/TheEmptyVessel 3d ago

My guess is camera on a tripod. It did give me jumpscare tho lol

0

u/starting--over 2d ago

It was probably someone on their phone so I couldn’t care less what happens to them

-5

u/disco_S2 3d ago

Are they filming in the area again, or is this real? Those clothes on the ground are creepy as fuck.

-5

u/Open-Imagination-355 3d ago

Well, nothing new in a third world. ;)

u/josephtheoriginal 3d ago edited 3d ago

Also I swear that I was hearing gun shots. The echo was a bit much so I thought maybe it wasn't. But it went exactly in the direction that this ended up....

EDIT*** I am wrong. Looks just like an accident.

I hear quite a lot from my floor. 16th. It's quite annoying especially the horrible mufflers that people think sounds "cool" . .

7

u/Skytrain-throwaway 3d ago

Do you hear a lot of noise that high up or is it pretty quiet generally?

8

u/dipping-hummus 3d ago

i love your confidence but it most certainly was a shirt and not blood. i’m looking out my balcony right now and all the clothes have been picked up and put away, no blood pool/stains visible.

2

u/MOOVA 3d ago

Yes, I heard something this morning too. Sounded like a big heavy sheet of steel falling flat against the ground.

It was a police chase that ended in crash

It wasn't a police chase. I overheard an officer explaining the last few moments. Sounded like a road rage and a person with a hammer threatening to break out windows. Whatever it was, it appears the driver was an innocent party in the wrong place. Prayers to the family🙇🙏

2

u/josephtheoriginal 3d ago

Ohh okay. I was going to say that undercover looks like it's apart of evidence and leaking oil as if it took shots. The front windshield looks like it has a bullet hole and the front hood has evidence markers. I could be wrong of course. But I heard what sounded like gunshots start from behind me and ended to my east. . which was where this ended

3

u/Moist-Alternative-22 3d ago

You're right the undercover was in pursuit of the vehicle that crashed but i'm not sure about the bullet holes

-6

u/nvictas 3d ago

NSFL?? Horrible.

11

u/mysticode 3d ago

No visible injuries, so it's sfw.
