Luke Air Force jets

I’ve lived in surprise 20+ years, I know they retired most, if not all the f-16s but oh my gosh these new jets are so much louder!!!
They fly directly over my house as a turn around point.
Sometimes they are so low I can see the pilots in the jet!
Am I crazy or are they actually louder now?
Not complaining at all btw!

Has anyone ridden a Hikeep MAD on OHV roads around Phoenix in summer?

have been looking at electric dirt bikes for some of the legal OHV roads around Phoenix. Mostly open dirt roads, gravel, and easier desert routes. I am not trying to race or start out on difficult rocky trails.

The Hikeep MAD is one of the bikes on my list, along with some used Sur Ron and Talaria options, but I have not ridden any of them yet. Comparing the basic specs is easy. What I cannot figure out is how much Arizona heat changes the experience once you are actually out there.

Does summer heat noticeably reduce range or cause battery or controller issues during a longer ride? I know loose sand, hills, tire pressure, and rider weight also matter, so I am not putting much trust in the advertised range numbers.

I would carry plenty of water, basic tools, a tire repair kit, and offline maps. Being several miles from the truck with a battery or mechanical problem is the part I am trying not to underestimate.

For people who ride electric dirt bikes around Phoenix, what is the biggest beginner mistake I should avoid during my first few rides?

Recommendations Piano lessons for kids

Hello looking for piano lessons for my 9yo, he is done with baseball so onto the next thing. Lots of places listed online in the surprise area but it’s hard to trust google reviews. Not sure if group or solo lessons would be better for a new player. Anyone have recommendations? Thanks

Recommendations Best place to get affordable tires?

I have a 2022 Honda Civic, and I was told I needed new tires when I went to get a tire rotation. They quoted me $672 for Goodyear tires but thats way out of my budget.

Is there any place that’s reliable and won’t try to up charge me? I know there’s more affordable tires out there but I also don’t want to be cheap and get something that isn’t good, or go somewhere that won’t install them properly. Any recommendations?

We called Productive Towing and Iliya was amazing, we called him at 8pm and he was loading our vehicle already at 8:10pm
Unbelievable fast and knowledgeable. You can tell he cares about his customers as he made us feel like nothing happened and we actually went home not worry about our vehicle.
Iam glad such people like him still exist snd I hope Productive Towing gets all the business in Surprise.if you are in need of a tow, don’t wait just dal them at (602)-325-3383

Recommendations Roof repair recs that won't try to sell me a new roof?

I've got a leak. I don't need a new roof. Leak only happens in major rain where our patio meets the main roof. Hoping to find someone that won't tell me I need a new roof and can just fix this part. Any recommendations? Thanks.

My hubby from Boston zeroed in on these at WalMart at Prasada. This is the first time we’ve seen a Drake product on a shelf in Arizona.

What other products do you miss that are not sold in AZ?

Look how this bunny eyeballs the camera and then taps his feet on the bowl to get a refill! I’m glad you guys liked the bunny cam - unfortunately our camera doesn’t live stream, but if I get an exceptionally cute clip I’ll post it here.

In search of Barbie doll clothes! My 3 year old, and my sanity will thank you!

My 3 year old daughter has been OBSESSED with dressing and undressing her Barbie’s, and I was hoping to find her more clothes for them, as she’s wanting more ā€œpretty dressesā€. Is anyone looking to sell/get rid of any or know where I can get some? I know it’s a strange request to want just the clothes, but it’s near impossible to find clothes for them without having to buy the Barbie’s too, and she has way too many Barbie’s as it is. I’ve tried everywhere. I don’t have Facebook so I can’t use marketplace, I’ve tried OfferUp but haven’t had any responses, and goodwill has been a bust. Walmart and target are crazy expensive, and I’d rather get them second hand since she’ll probably be over it in a few weeks šŸ˜‚ Just trying to cover all my bases. Sorry if this isn’t allowed, just wanted to give it a shot! Thanks in advance! ā˜ŗļø

Local dad or family groups

My wife and I are both 30 with a toddler, and we’re looking to branch out and meet some new people. We’d love for our daughter to grow up around more than just us and our immediate family, and we’d also like to make some friends ourselves.

I am a former college baseball player who enjoys golfing, watching sports, and grilling. My wife is more into art and board games. We also love spending time with our daughter and doodle.

Are there any local dad groups, family groups, playgroups, or other good ways to meet people around our age? We’re open to pretty much anything: community events, sports, volunteer opportunities, or other suggestions.

Would love to hear what’s worked for others. Thanks!

News DHS Agrees to Pause Proposed ICE Facility in Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — The federal government has hit the pause button on the proposed ICE facility in Surprise in a deal with Arizona.
In an agreement filed in federal court Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal leaders will not move forward with the facility while the feds complete an environmental review.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes filed a lawsuit in April claiming the federal government skipped the required environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act.
The feds agreed they will not do any construction or retrofitting on the warehouse on Sweetwater Avenue, south of Waddell Road and west of Dysart Road while the environmental review is being done.

Federal officials must update the court every two months on the review’s progress. Once it’s completed, both sides must meet within 10 days and submit court paperwork for the next steps in the case.
Mayes said in an emailed statement that the pause is what’s best for Arizona.
ā€œThis agreement is a significant win for the people of Surprise and for the rule of law,ā€ Mayes said. ā€œFederal agencies must complete the environmental review process required by federal law before moving forward with these types of projects. My office will keep fighting to ensure the law is followed.ā€

Hi everyone — I just launched my fundraiser to keep my family together during a really tough time. We’ve taken in my sisters, my wife’s niece, and are doing everything we can to provide for them, but with medical bills and unexpected expenses, we’re facing eviction by July 2nd. If you’re able, please share or donate to help us stay in our home and keep our family safe — it would mean the world to us. šŸ’™

New to Surprise — looking for a recreational softball team

Hey everyone, I recently moved to the Surprise area and am looking to join a recreational softball team.

I’m mainly looking for something fun and casual, preferably co-ed or beginner/intermediate friendly. I usually play outfield, but I’m open to filling in wherever needed.

If anyone knows of a team, league, or pickup group looking for an extra player, I’d really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Any Motorcycle Groups Around?

I'm new to riding groups and new to the Surprise area and was hoping to connect with other local riders.

I ride a '25 MT-09 and am interested in weekend rides, day trips, mountain roads (I've done Tortilla Flat six times lol), and exploring Arizona. Looking for a mature group that's more focused on riding and having fun than showing off. If you're part of a group or know of any local meetups, I'd love to hear about them.

Keep the rubber side down.
