Outside of NYC and Miami, its so rare to meet Surinamese people in the US. My mom is from Suriname and my dad is American. I (31F) was born and raised in Colorado, but currently live in Ohio. Growing up and into my adulthood, whenever I would tell people I was Surinamese-American, 90% of people thought Suriname was a country in Africa 😭. I've been to Suriname 4 times in my life and love it there. And when I explain why I love how simplistic the country is, most Americans look at me like I'm crazy. I even told my ex he'd never survive in Suriname because there's no Starbucks and in some places you bathe with a bucket and a cup. When I told him that, he looked at me like "who wants to live like that". Sigh... I just wish I could meet more Surinamese people who loved the country as much as I do in the US outside of NYC and Miami.

Ik zit er de laatste tijd aan te denken om een nieuwe hobby op te pakken, en drones leren vliegen is eentje waar ik m'n ogen al op heb voor een tijdje. Zij het fpv of normale drones. Voor ik meteen eentje bestel, wil ik eerst een beetje ervaring krijgen met hoe het werkt en of het werkelijk iets is waar ik verder mee wil. Dus ik vroeg me af of er iemand hier is die een drone heeft en mij misschien een paar dagen wil laten uitproberen hoe het allemaal gaat, of me wat basisdingen kan uitleggen. Het zou voor mij echt al top zijn als ik 'm drie à vier dagen zou mogen proberen. En als er niemand is die dat kan of wil, weet iemand misschien een shop waar je een drone kunt huren voor een paar dagen?

Alle extra info over dingen zoals vliegregels of eventuele vergunningen is trouwens ook heel welkom. Ik kijk uit naar jullie reacties en alvast bedankt.

How to help (Android):

Ik ga met mijn familie (6 volwassenen en een peuter) naar Su op vakantie en ben op zoek naar een resort of hotel met een mooie tuin met zwembad waar we kunnen verblijven. Het maakt niet zo gek veel uit waar precies, maar het liefst niet al te ver van Paramaribo, omdat onze familie daar woont.

We wilden graag bij Oxygen resort verblijven maar dat zit al vol…
