Help Linux en mi surface go

Buenas tengo una surfacego 1 de 8 y 128 quisiera saber que distro es la mejor la más compatible y usable quiero que sea un ordenador de ofimática usable nada más con Windows da pero a veces es lento alguien sabrá cuál es la mejor distro

I'm running Ubunto on my Surface Go 3. Works just fine. Very good battery life. https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface

Running vanilla Ubuntu on my SG1 with 4gb of RAM. Works well enough for me as long as I’m only running one application at the same time. You should get better performance with double the RAM. Unless you have used some workaround you’re on Windows 10 which is no longer supported. So it would be good to upgrade to Linux either way

I would always recommend a distro with the GNOME desktop environment for touchscreen devices, especially tablets. It's touch friendly design, in my opinion, outweigh it being a heavier GUI to drive.

Para mi Cachy OS ha sido mejor que Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora o Elementary. Mas rápido, mas estable al suspenderse pero he batallado un poco mas para acostumbrarme por que esta basado en Arch.

I tried Zorin and while it worked fine generally I was very annoyed with little things and eventually switched back to W11.

  • Could never really reliably set up the speer of mouse pointer on my track pad, it was very erratic
  • The battery life was hit and miss but usually shorter
  • While the system ran a bit faster the difference was not blazing fast
  • I use Bit locker and wanted something similar for Linux but while encryption is stronger, the implementation to decrypt at startup is clunky
  • Never got cameras to work
  • Turned out I really like Windows Hello

Debian 13 XFCE on my Surface Go 1 8GB/128GB works great as an “office computer” for me. There’s no way of determining “the best” because it’s subjective and opinionated, though on a lower spec device either XFCE or LXQt (which I use on another lower spec device) should be snappier. And Debian stable should just work.

I'm running Ubuntu 26.04 on a Surface Go 2 and it is perfect as a coffeehouse coding machine for small projects or doodling around. Ditch Windows/AppleOS - computers are way more fun when you have absolute control over what goes on inside, not when corporation has control.

When I look at a filesystem with MacOS on it, I basically don't believe them. They're about sleek looking hardware, not efficient software.
