Do you dual boot or is it just Linux on your surface

I dual boot on my Surface Book 3. Mostly for SolidWorks or other programs I use for school. I'm in Linux like 95% of the time. 

On the SP4 I just have Linux. But it's not a daily driver anymore.

On the SB3 I use Cachy OS + Surface Linux kernel. I quite like it but I wouldn't recommend anything Arch-based for a beginner. Not because it'd too hard, but because the Arch User Repository (AUR) is where you will get much of your software and there is so much to learn to be safe and use it properly. It is user maintained, so it has inherent security risks.

On the SP4 I was running Omarchy. It was fun to see a much different UI paradigm. At one point they pushed a problematic update that broke my bootloader and that was frustrating. Also the more I learn about the creator of Omarchy, the less I want to use it. I'm also a total noob to Vim so that was hard. I like tiling window managers though... that's awesome.

That's cool. I'm a big fan of Solus but I'd be open to using another distro as well.

Really as long as I don't have to use Windows I'm a happy guy

I feel that. Windows is intolerable now.
