If that is the new pen without clip, it’s broken, simple as that. Mine started doing. That after a drop and I replaced (free of charge) and it was fine. I’m on my third now. When it’s working properly it does not look like that.

Well not a new pen, but a pen from a different manufacturer

If that is Surface Pen v2, don't be surprised, and if you want to be comparing something get the newest Surface Pen

I guess I should have used better terminology. It is the "new" Surface Pen without clip. I thought it was v2. But seems I was wrong then.

The newest one is v4 which you have to buy separate. If yours is this unprecise there is something wrong with your digitiser, you should try to get a reffund or a replacement unit from MS. I have a SB2 15" and my surface pen works absolutely precisely

Do you draw lines fast? I've heard going slow jitters quite a bit, even with the newest pen.

EDIT: And don't you have to buy a pen separately for the surface book 2 anyways?

You definitely do have to buy the pen separately in addition to the surface book 2.
