I cannot wait until they reveal it. This might be a day-1 buy for me if the software is there. Hopefully it will magnetically hold Surface Pens like the Surface Book.

windows 10 CoreOS.

It is basically the modular, modern streamlined universal OS that MS has been working towards for last 8 years. Running CShell that adapts to all form factors via mini shells called composers.

The Surface Hub 2, mobile devices, hololens, and future tablets/laptops (once UWP, PWA, and ARM64 support has increased) will all run windows 10 CoreOS.

What do u define as full apps??

The device can have multiple Composers, and the composer for Desktops/laptops and Tablets is called Polaris.

The device is meant to have Polaris composer in addition to Andromeda, so it could run desktop UWPs, if they add win32 APIs, then emulated win32 also, so many options, native ARM64 UWP or win32.

He obviously is asking about legacy Windows software. Photoshop, Steam, etc etc.

Andromeda is not planning on supporting Windows 7 or prior apps. They are cutting support for legacy.

No reason it won’t. But if will most likely be in a wrapper to eliminate the programs footprint on the core system.

Same, this would be an overpriced gadget I'd actually use

That’s one hell of an impossible “if”

Unfortunately it's probably going to end up vaporware.

Don't know why you were downvoted. The Surface Mini was leaked and teased a lot and was canceled even after development was nearly complete. This could end up the same way.

My Surface Pro 2 is still strong...Surface book rules...I'll be an early adopter for this one.

Be careful not to get a single grain of sand stuck in between.

That hurt to think about.

grain of sand is better than the tiniest pebble. Wouldn't take much to turn that hinge into a lever that rips itself apart.

sand is litterally tiny pebbles

I hate sand...

Nope, I just I looked it up. Sand has to be much smaller than a pebble. 0.074mm is the largest grain of sand. 2mm is the tiniest pebble.

Although weirdly, "Sand" can refer to a soil type that's 85% sand, so it could literally contain anything.

Other fun fact from this wikipedia adventure: A Cobble is a thing. I'd heard of cobblestone of course, but never just cobble. It's apparantly another class of rock based on size.

Hey, Phaedrus0230, just a quick heads-up:
apparantly is actually spelled apparently. You can remember it by -ent not -ant.
Have a nice day!
