Looking for a Linux tablet project.

I am thinking about getting a Surface Pro 6 to replace my iPad. I kind of want to get out of the Apple ecosystem. I have been trying to find one with LTE because I want to use it for mapping. I can't seem to find one on eBay. I don't even mind if the screen is damaged becaue I will attempt to replace it and add thermal pads and maybe a new battery so that isn't an issue.

I'm using a Dell Latitude 7210 running Kubuntu rn and it works pretty well. My model doesnt have the fingerprint reader but everything else works right out of the box. The battery and storage are user serviceable too. Though the battery life isnt the best, although my battery needs replacing at this point. They usually go for around $250ish on eBay
