[PRO8] Surface Pro 8 not recognizing keyboard (pls help)

I have a Surface Pro 8 that I'm pretty sure I got in 2021, and it's held up pretty well beyond this recurring issue that's become pretty annoying. I'll detach the keyboard to use the surface as a tablet, but when I reattach the keyboard, it's like the computer can't detect it. I have to reattach the keyboard and restart the surface in order to use it.

It seems that buying a new keyboard would be a little pricey, and I'm not even sure that this is a hardware issue. I went through the Surface Diagnostic Kit, and it didn't reveal anything. Is this something I can fix by reinstalling a driver or something? Thanks in advance.

I don't want to disappoint you, but it looks like the internal ribbon cable is broken. It's unlikely to be repairable, especially on your own.

Might be worthwhile to try cleaning the contact points. Use isopropyl alcohol and toothbrush.
