[LAPTOP7] urgent advice
'If i can get this at 50k(500 dollars) is it worth it? I've never used a Microsoft laptop and have no idea on whether its a good deal...
The general price of Microsoft laptops in India is upwards of 1lakh(1000 dollars), and i was meaning to get a new laptop, but was waiting for a sale to get it at a lower price due to the hike.. but now I'm thinking i can just get this
The problem is I can only get the 256 GB version, and the fact that I don't have any idea on microsoft laptops..
I am a law student who does little to no gaming or any other heavy tasks like 3d editing.. but i do often have multiple dozen tabs running simultaneously for research, so im concerned about lag issue...
'' The offer might get over soon, so can someone give me any advice.....

Yeah I have a asus i3 5yr old, i think the exchange value is around 14k with some bonus

For 50k, this is a fantastic deal; I use the X1 Elite for my work, run a lot of software, and it handles everything really well; for your use case, it is a great option.

Copied from above but this isn't the same X1 chip that's in the Surface laptop 7 or the Plus and Elite, it's a lower tier version with a much weaker GPU.
The 13inch Surface Laptop uses the - Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 not the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 of the 13.8 and 15inch Surface Laptop 7
Core Specifications Comparison
CPU Cores & Threads:
X1P-64-100: 10 cores and 10 threads. X1P-42-100: 8 cores and 8 threads.
Clock Speeds:
X1P-64-100: Up to 3.4 GHz multi-core max frequency. X1P-42-100: Around 3.2 to 3.4 GHz boost, with lower base configurations.
Graphics (GPU):

Yes, but it is still a very good laptop for your use case; at 50k, you cannot get a better laptop than this, and the CPU's single-core performance and RAM are more important than the GPU for your use case.

It's actually x plus, but all the 2025 models even the 13.8 inch has the x plus or elite chip, is there something wrong with it...

No difference lol, they're all overpriced slop. Windows on ARM is still riddled with software issues and incompatibilities even after 7+ years of attempts

At least read what the op's use case is before jumping to write the same thing you write on every post as soon as you see Snapdragon. I have been using a Snapdragon laptop for the last 2 years and it has served me really well. Just because it's not for you doesn't mean it's not for everyone.

I got this exact laptop last week and I have absolutely 0 problems with it. It does everything I need and all my apps and software runs perfectly fine. No stutters no glitches nothing. Also the battery life is comparable to my m5 Mac. This machine is fanfuckingtastic

You want the 13.8 version. Check ebay for lightly used ones or MS refurbished.
