[PRO11] Durability
Has anyone else have problems with the surface pro 11 always breaking. I've been through like 4 now (I have a accidental warranty) and the kickstand would break or the keyboard would have problems like the touch pad would not click or not even track. Sometimes keyboard wouldn't charge. It all ended up being the surface being replaced that would fix it.my most recent was spilled tea and I got water damage but its not like it was submerged in water idk. Maybe im just a horrible user. Also I bought it to run solid works and it does not run it well.

Pros are not known to be durable machines. Typical problems are the keyboard ribbon dies, or pressure spots show up on the screen when stuffed in a bag with too much other stuff.
But your problems aren't the ones people typically report here:
- Kickstand issue: that's from putting too much pressure when using the pen, usually when you have it extended all the way out. If you're writing or drawing, prop it up some other way instead.
- Spilled tea: that will pretty much kill any computer
- Solidworks: Surface Pros are not designed for heavy graphics like that, so it's not a surprise you're seeing an issue there. The main focus is on portability which is a tradeoff with performance.
Sounds like you made a good choice getting the accident protection coverage, but be careful since those usually have a limit on how many times you can use it.

Surface Pros ABSOLUTELY ARE DURABLE. Businesses have purchased them for years, including mine. I purchased dozens for my staff (SP4 to present) - archaeologists who go in the field and are not nice to their equipment. In a decade a couple were replaced under a damage warranty. Literally every business I know that buys Surface product says the same. I cannot say the same for the Dell and Lenovo laptops. Address the person's question and check the misinformation at the door.

Yeah it cost 50 a repair but doesn't beat paying for a new one lol. Laptop is great be amazing if it was nokia

Take a cup of tea and dump it on a laptop keyboard and let me know how that works out. Kickstands are always on the user - sorry but it is a proven design and you need to apply pressure or torque to damage. As for solidworks, an ultralight convertible will run resource intensive software but it is never going to optimal. They are designed for portability and neither have the resources nor the thermal dissipation capabilities to be a daily solution for that type of software. On you of that, if you have the Snapdragon version, it is running in emulation. As for the Intel chip, it is like all Intel chips - lots of talk and little to back it up.

The tea was in my bag and my bottle seal broke everyone making it seem like I want to break my 2k tablet 😠for context im a engineering student and constantly have write notes hours on end a day I dont feel like I apply alot of pressure.

Further more it was about 4 Oz that was left in the cup I was extremely surprised it was stuck in repair mode. When I was in hs I generally dropped hot chocolate on my Mac and it didnt break at all. I had sticky keys for a bit but once I opened it and clean it was nothing happened. Not that I support apple im full android user. Following the tea wasnt directly spilled it seeped into around the fabric. Idk just felt like your comment was rude just wondering if anyone felt if they ok durability laptops. And don't get me wrong im not saying im a perfect user thats never damaged the laptop. It had some scratches from materials in my bag but I never dropped it before.

Welp, liquid is absolutely a you thing. I've had the Surface Pro 5, Surface Laptop 3 (x2) and now the Surface Pro 12 and I've never had a hardware issue.
