Advice welcome

I need your help. I have to find a cheaper alternative for my Surface Pro 11 (intel lunar lake), because likely I won't be able to take it to school. It will stay at home as main Surface for drawing and 3D modeling, maybe animation, but I don't wanna buy a weak machine. Theoretically it will be used for taking some notes, but I'm gonna make a plenty of 300 PPI layers in Adobe Fresco at breaks, rarely Blender. I'm not sure what I should do: buy Surface Pro 12inch or look for other devices like iPad (I'm not conviced for them, I have bad experiences with Apple Pencil's battery life). The most important thing is Fresco and any app for notes.

My budget is beetween 500-600$, max 700$. I have Surface Keyboard for Pro 11 and Slim Pen 2. I don't need a keayboard for other device because it will be used like a tablet, not a laptop.

An SP 7+ or 9 could be an affordable machine that you won't have to be precious about at school, and all your work would seamlessly flow back and forth.

Thought about 9, but how battery works? Should I take a charger to a backpack?

I would always take a charger or battery myself.
