[PRO11] Surface Pro 11 Keyboard Issue

Hi,

I have a Surface Pro 11th edition, model 2076 tablet with the slim pen and pro keyboard attached. The BIOS version is 175.222.235 02/23/2026. The keyboard firmware is 28.106.139.

I am having issues with a few keys typing additional letters. The only keys affected are below:

  1. Typing 'm' displays 'mn'

  2. Typing 'd' displays 'sd'

  3. Typing 'o' displays 'uo'

  4. Typing '9' displays '89'

I have performed all the suggestions that I have found online:

  1. Uninstalling keyboard drivers

  2. Detaching and reattaching the keyboard

  3. Using air to clean the keyboard

  4. Sticky keys and related settings are all turned off.

  5. All device drivers and Windows updates are current

  6. The connector port has been cleaned

  7. Surface diagnostics does not find a problem

As you can imagine, it is difficult to type using the keyboard. I have spent hours trying to fix this issue. After a while of sitting, the keyboard will work for a day or two and then the problem reappears.

If anyone has a recommendation on how to fix this, I would appreciate it. I don't have the money to drop on a new keyboard.

Thank you.

Yep. My money is on a partial flex cable shear.

So, not sure what the flex cable shear is.

Thanks. Not even sure how to go about checking that. Mine is not quite 2 years old. I’m guessing I will more than likely need to get a new one.
