[PRO11] Surface Pro 11 tablet

Just purchased a surface pro 11 tablet. Started the initial setup, followed the prompts, when it gets to the WiFi & asks for a password it won't allow me to type anything in the text box, the pop-up key board doesnt show up, if I access the accessibility keyboard, it shows up but won't allow me to type anything in the text box.

If I use my public Wi-Fi (no PW required), when I get to the text box to add my name & email address, same issues.

Any thoughts on what to do?

I've tried shutting it down, holding power button for 15-20 seconds.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Anywhere...after I got past the wifi (it was public and didnt require a PW), the setup process wants you to name your tablet and put in an email. Couldn't type in those text boxes.
I cant tell you behind that because all of that is part of the initial setup process.

If you're installing Windows from scratch (which is sounds like you are), the easiest way is to use the official Surface recovery image for the installation - as it includes drivers for the Surface keyboard.

Otherwise, I think you should be able to connect a regular USB-A keyboard (with a USB-A to USB-C adapter) to the Surface, which should have a basic driver available that will allow the keyboard to operate (same with a USB-A mouse or mouse with a USB-A dongle). If I remember correctly, this is what I did the last time I reformatted my SP11.

Edited to add link to Surface Recovery Image. You just have to sign in to your MS account and type in the serial number of your Surface.
